So high sec miners, expect to get screwed more

Listening to soundwave , that champion of high sec income streams, on the Eve Radio replay state flatly that no place should have perfect refine and soon shall should not exist anywhere in the game.

So you can imagine how bad the nerf is coming to high sec mining income.

And null sec propagandists, don't bother stating that this will just mean increased mineral costs across the board, since most of null sec and ALL of wh space already has this mechanic. This is geared as another attack against high sec income.

Oh, and he just said that he has no interest in curtailing large coalitions.
Guess that explains the philosophy of the game designer that came from goons.

And one of the DJ's just said "point on the ship where the nasty goon touched you", in reference to soundwave's comment about the alliance tourney prizes, and soundwave did not correct him.
Guess that settles whether he is STILL a goon.

You....are a fool.

Lowered supply of highsec minerals, means prices rise accordingly. High-sec miner mineral volume decreases, profit per unit increases, income stays stable.

Second, while Soundwave may have his own opinion, it;s not the opinion of all of the CCP devs. Even if it were, we can get perfect refine in 30% stations, I rather doubt ccp would drop it lower than that. Might be more work to refine, but oh well.

Lastly, there are no way to restrain coalitions, we will adapt to any change in mechanics.

I don't even know where to begin with this post...

Perfect refine isn't so much against the miners as it is against those who take mission loot and refine it instead of selling it. Also, those who compress down minerals in to guns and ship them to nullsec to be refined and turned in to a Supercarrier. And yes, it would bring a price rise to minerals. That is basic economics talking.

And 0.0 coalitions run the game. Anything CCP would do to try to limit our growth would be circumvented.

And really I don't understand why you would mine in highsec when you can make so much more isk out in 0.0. Also, 0.0 is safer than highsec. So it really is a win-win.

That's pretty obvious, on why you'd mine in high sec and not in null.

The trouble with nullsec is you have to spend so much time and energy licking the boots of your alliance masters. And listening to them brag how big their genitalia are. Believe it or not, a primary reason so many people play in highsec is so they can be independent and not put up with all the political nonsense associated with nullsec. ISK per hour be damned.

So...

Nobody will have the ability to get perfect refining, be that in High Sec, Low Sec, or Null Sec.

And that affects a miner how? If everybody is in the same situation, all that will happen will be a drop in supply for a bit, and prices may rise slightly but not for long, as prices are player led, and if I were mining and selling minerals, I'd seek to undercut people within reason so my stuff sells, and then someone undercuts me so their stuff sells............. etc

If High sec gets a bigger nerf than low sec, and low sec gets a bigger nerf than Null Sec, then it's surely a good example of Risk vs Reward, you want to earn more isk, then move to low / nullsec instead of sitting in your high sec belt scraping the rocks that are there in your cargo maxed barge with paper tank and whining on the forum when it gets ganked.

Besides which, it's one Dev talking on the Radio, it may happen, it may not happen, it might happen next Tuesday, or it might happen 23rd Aug 2019, who knows, and who cares, it's a game, if you can't deal with change then it's time to quit.

He is the lead designer of EVE online, so while what he says isn't a guarantee of anything, his opinion carries a lot of weight in what will actually be implemented in the game and shouldn't be casully dismissed.

there will always be perfect refining, the only thing that will change is the yield on a perfect refine.

veld might just start giving 700 units of trit instead of 1000, it'll just be a new benchmark. the only really interesting piece of news is whether this new standard will be available everywhere, or just in some exclusive parts of the game.

Good, let them nerf hi sec into the ground.

It's a technique called slowly raise the heat on the frog and it won't know it's getting cooked.

Reason I don't care...if they want to take the game in some imaginary tough guy everybody grabbing everybody a s s and have one great big PVP fest then they should do so, see if it works out for them.

Then they can best learn which customer they need to serve if it's whomever ...that's the problem with nerds they have trouble socially.

Goons aren't the problem the problem exist cause CCP cannot wrap their heads around why many don't want to head off to low sec or nully.

it's so cute that you think it's a high sec nerf even though you can get perfect refining everywhere but wormholes, as far as i'm aware.

All what will happen is that miners won't sell on their minerals now but wait for the inevitable price hike or anticipated price hike.

All this comment is going to do is to drive up prices in the meantime and if this happens, after the event.

And if mineratls become more scarce after this change then all that will happen is that the prices will go up for everything and the economists had better watch out for Eve Inflation.

Do you have a link to 'his' comments? A lot of rumours actually come from or are attributed to 'him' and more often than not they don't happen at all or they appear in a weakened form. Worrying never did anyone any good so we will just have to wait and see.

Not wishing to be personal but it's a pity 'he' wasn't moved instead of CCP Unifex. Companies/employers should seek to keep their customers/workforce happy and contented. Not rock the boat all the time. Sad

Malcanis made the same comments in another thread in reply to me. But what is the point of nerfing High Sec when the majority of the people there have no interest in going to 0.0. Keep nerfing this and people will just say nah, won't bother, and the reason is its relative, many of us use High Sec to gather resources to go roam in 0.0, or operate in those areas where its not so blobby, but CCP intends to make that harder, well thank you, as if it isn't hard enough now!

Lets take the nerf to refining module drops, I do this in NPC 0.0 to gather the minerals to make battleships on location, the rest I ship in, part of that reasoning was due to the nerf on ice belts, so I am now being careful with my fuel reserves, I noted another thread where some idiot wanted to remove module drops from the game. I am begining to feel the same way as those people who lost hidden belts which enabled them to mine in NPC 0.0, which by the way I have done in the past. This game is not just the spergelords in 0.0, I used to think that CCP would not be so stupid to forget that, but it seems that they are.

Personally I would improve the refining in 0.0 rather than nerf HS.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Yeah, indeed interesting that the null sec cartel CSM members (who were candidates at the time) were shouting for this months ago, then went silent publicly, and soundwave then announces it on Eve Radio. Guess the CSM has zero influence on the game, and that all these people fighting tooth and nail to get onto the CSM don't recognize it as the most effective lobby tool in the game, but just merely an epeen thing.....

As for the link, here it is. Check out the first half for the lead game designer's comments about wrecking perfect refine.
There may be more tidbits of joy from him, but I could not stomach listening to the 2nd half. I may try today, if I can restrain from wrecking my headset listening to him.

And for those that suggest that , well if they nerf refining, then prices will just rise, and the status quo will be maintained, ask yourselves "if that is the case, then why introduce the mechanic at all?".
This nerf will be designed to redistribute wealth towards one sec status area over another.

WH space has always been screwed with then hard cap on POS refining. That cap should be removed completely btw, but CCP made their opinions about permanent wh life very clear at Fanfest.
Null sec can almost achieve perfect refine with the proper stations and skills, but it is not perfect.
High and low sec are the targets here.

I fail to see the problem, why should High & Low sec get the same 'benefits' as Null sec? They want to encourage industry back into nullsec so they give them a cherry for the pie, and they want to persuade miners that mining veldspar in 0.9 caldari space isn't the be all and end all of the game.

If they tweak refining rates then things will happen.

The forums will light up with whiners
Some people will ragequit (good riddance, they're obviously not here for the long term if they can't accept change)
Some people will move to Low and Null.

So where's the problem?

There was a solution banded about a while ago, creating super ores for nullsec (I know they changed the mineral content of certain ores recently) but say a "Dark Veldspar" which instead of being the +5% and +10% would be +15% or +20%, which would only be found in nullsec, but dunno what happened to that idea. That may encourage some miners to null. In effect it would be the same end result, high sec miners would be getting less isk per hour mining 'veldspar' than nullsec miners mining 'veldspar'

Chic Botany, at the moment null sec gets less efficiency than HS, why not change that by improving efficiency, no point to nerf HS.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

I have to say I agree with that original quote, its not just the Goons, but a majority of the people in 0.0. So any misguided attempts to shift people from HS to 0.0 actually reduce the numbers that play, I mean grinding via mining or PVE is so mind numbingly boring, that to make it take even longer to get what you need for more enjoyable parts is plain stupidity and teh idea of reducing refinary rates in HS is stupid...
