I know I am not liked in eve and I do stuff that annoys and angers others in the game , but its a GAME.

I had today again for the 3rd time this month someone tell me to Kill myself in rl even describing how they wanted me to do it.

I just don't understand how some people can value a human life as so little, trying to push someone to kill themselves

I did the usual petition but im worried the GM's are not taking it seriously.

I just wanted to say before you think its funny to push someone to so something horrible to others or themselves , how would you feel if they actually did follow through with it and there blood was on your hands?

To be clear I suffer from depression, but I am Not suicidal

That said, after being told to kill myself it gets me sick to my stomach.

I am a part of a mental health community that has people far worse off then me which I have seen do desperate things when pushed into it.

I just ask you think of the repercussions beforehand before you chose the words you use to someone, ingame or out.

Don't take it seriously, some eve players are simply idiots who wouldn't survive socially in the real world. Petition it and let them enjoy their bans.

If someone could be driven to commit suicide because some assh*le ran his mouth in an online game then that person has way bigger problems than having some assh*le run his mouth in an online game and should be getting treatment so that when some assh*le runs his mouth in the online game the person won't be so fragile.

Open a support ticket and report it if it offends you so much. Bringing your issues and/or baggage to GD will only cause you to be ridiculed.

Yes, but, oddly, the suicidal don't fancy treatment. The idea of having to be "fixed" generally decreases what little self-esteem they have left and drives them further into the spiral. Maybe this game is an escape. You appear to also be running your mouth.

Sorry to hear about your problems and I hope you'll be able to leave it behind you in time.

GMs should take it seriously it when reported. It can be argued that it's abusive, threating, harmful and obscene and therefor a violation of the EULA, section Conduct, subsection A, point 5.

If you believe you're not taken seriously, you can ask for your ticket to be escalated to a more senior GM. You can always try to ask if such behaviour is a violation of the EULA and the consequnces of such act would be according to their protocol. (Talk about generics not the individual case as that's something between the GM and the player)

If you believe a GM is not performing his job, I'm not sure what the correct step to take would be, use the feedback form, open another ticket to report it to a lead GM or even contact internal affairs if he's abusing his position.

Lastly I'd like to iterate what has been said, don't take it personal. He doesn't know you, if he can't seperate a game from reality he also has issues and should seek help.

And a longer version of Abons point would be Derren Browns The experiment: Delving Deeper: The Gameshow .

This answer is easy, stop dumping in others Wheaties, I have never been told anything like that cause I mind my own in game.

If you know what you do angers people then don't do it if you don't want them to say stuff to you.

Depression is not an excuse I feel like doing stuff to others that pass gas my way when I am minding my own in RL, I don't cause I control myself.
believe me if you could read what goes through my mind you would think I'm a mad man..I'm not I'm a human monkey that has to work to control myself, the more you do it the better you get at it.

Good luck.

Obviously.

Point is, the last thing someone that close to the edge needs is one more push.

This isn't good advice. You shouldn't give a flying crap what some moron on the internet thinks of you. This is a game, at the end of the day you can turn off the computer and do something else if someone is annoying you.

It's the internet. You need to train your shield compensation skills up to level 4. People who suffer from depression and are still alive having suffered from it for a long time, have probably trained it to level V.

I support what the OP is saying.

I am constantly amazed at the hate and vitriol spewing from the keyboard warriors of the internet, especially those who hide behind anonymity. The rule seems to be 'if you disagree with me or I don't approve of your philosophies then I can say what I like regardless of how vile I am'.

This behaviour is certainly not restricted to EVE. In forums without moderation it can get particularly nasty. I struggle to understand why so many human beings are filled with such hate.

I'd like to see internet users self regulate by applying ethical tests to posts.
Think before you post. Do you really mean what you are saying? Would you say it if you had to put your real name against it? If someone said the same thing to your sister/ best friend/ grandparent, would you be outraged? Would your mother give you a clip over the ear if she read it?

Just sayin.......!

Do you play EVE like a girl ...because um... you ARE a girl?

Do you know about the WGoE (Women Gamers of EVE) chat channel?

It's just tears. Cheerish the fact that you are succesful in reaping them.

Of course you have every right to petition what goes against the rules if it really bothers you.

Have you ever thought about that your ingame actions could hurt a squeamish person in a similar way as those words tho?
Some people just have a hard time to distinguish between game and irl. Guess what i'm trying to say is that i support your complaint but at the same time am a bit baffled that you don't hold that high standard to your ingame actions because i think people wouldn't say such things if they wouldn't feel violated irl by what happend to them ingame.

To give you an example. When i gank some miner noob i empasize with them. In my mind i see some guy in front of his PC who's sad and angry. I would consider it fair game if he calls me names or whatever. But if it would really bother me that people have emotional reactions like this i simply wouldn't play in such a way.

OP, you reap what you sow. You admit to being for lack of a better term, a ****, and when someone gives you a taste of your own medicine you run to GM's and here of all places.

And you still wonder why...

All of a sudden you become weak and suffer of depression when someone talks sh*it but at the same time you do horrible sh*t in game and expect others to....do what ?

I guess what goes around, comes around...
