On the search for an solution for the problem, that u cant run two different Steam Eve Accounts on one PC at the same time, i recognized that Steam User just cant write Support tickets, due to the lack of a simple Username...

Seriously? I hope this will be fixed soon!

To anyone who wants to run different accounts with steam:

Log on the first account, kill the launcher and Steam with Task Manager, then restart Steam and log in to your other account, and start it again. This was how it was working for me.

Still, this is a very complicated and dumb way for running an Alt, and a huge disadvantage for every Steam User!

I am sorry for my english.

Why on earth would you ever, ever consider playing EVE through Steam?

You can open a ticket via this website, using the same credentials you used to log in and create your thread.

Because generally, steam is a very useful platform for pc gaming... never had trouble with it and 5€ for the complete starter package were a fair price.

Yes, but still u cant send a ticket ingame, which is just annoying...

Because steam is the shizzzzits man and who doesn't love STEAMS SUMMER BLOW OUT SALE!. Majority of my gaming friends and the various communities are through this application.

Isn't it like 1.7million gamer's have steam. Yes that number isn't exaggerated by alts either.

Yes, all of those are benefits of Steam. At least when they are the sole platform it's available on.

EVE, on the other hand, can be downloaded and run independently.

Steam is what I use for Skyrim, X-Com, Terraria, CoH, etc.

I don't use it for anything with significant client/server interactions. Especially because in most of those, the client is easily available from the site.

Adding an extra layer of complexity for the client? Not a good idea, ever.

Maybe for when there are special offers for eve on steam and you can get an alt + subscription for like 5 $ , although i don't kwow if you actually need to use steam after that.

Nothing keeps you using steam with those offers.

When you buy an account through Steam, an EVE account is AUTOMATICALLY created for you using Steam credentials, and of course nothing in the account (including the included goodies) is transferable. This also means, by the way, that your 30 days starts ticking the moment you buy EVE through STEAM.

On the whole I have to agree, the hassle of having the account created through STEAM is more than it's worth in getting a couple of extra goodies and a ten dollar discount on your first month. They should have followed the usual model of supplying a unique access key to open the account. No such luck. I suspect they did it this way to allow subscriptions to also be paid through STEAM.

I should mention that CCP tech support was VERY helpful when I tried logging in through Steam only to find that my account had already expired.
