Wow. All that "no trolling griefing on the new citizens sub-section goes right out the window when dust bunnies roll in.

You guys got a tough draw there. Kane will mess up your week. If you bring in allies then Kane and Stone Cold will bring out their latest Somali U class to make you and your allies look stupid. Have fun with that man. Just fly safe and keep your head low till this passes. Otherwise, HTFU! Don't bring whiney posts like this to the forum. Instead ask for advice on how to set up a trap.

The war started a minute ago. Congratulations to the OP to start to whine halve a day before anything could have happened.

So, is this the welcoming and oh so helpful community of EVE? That DUST guy didn't know that New Eden IS REALLY harsh. Please don't be morons and remember that almost every other game, from CoD to SWTOR protects its players from any form of emergent gameplay (lol), and let them to exist in a pre-scripted world with only few choices allowed. Some people naturally complain because they are simply not used to it. Just drag them in, explain them what they are part of, give them some advices but ******* STOP TROLLING/LAUGHING ON NEWBIES, if you actually want newbies in this game.

Confirming that Molden Heath belongs to the Pirate Brotherhood and anyone else is merely meat for the picking Pirate

I have deliberately developed an air of cynicism that I originally intended to make me appear somewhat louche and caddish but actually comes across as irritable hostility combined with the unspoken threat of sudden violence.....

If the OP had said "Someone declared war on me and my newbros, how do we fight back?" he would probably have got some good advice and some sympathy, but he posted what he did, and has been thoroughly ridiculed because of it.

He posted "why would a vet spend 50 million to declare war on total noob nobodies? am I missing something? is there a tricky new eden ploy at play here ? please explain to me." Some people responded with "yes vets do that, deal with it, here's what to do", which is actually valuable and the guy now knows that this is a part of EVE life. Ridiculed for what? Have you ever seen some of those _real_ whines, a la "omg our peaceful corp of miners got wardecced by this uber veteran, EVE is so unfair CCP fix it", or even better "CCP this game is unbalanced, I know it because I am experienced player being in WoW for whole 5 yrs, now immediately do this and that to fix your game"? That's something worth of laugh, not this guy.

On the other side - it's awesome to watch people repeating monkeys, banana and ice water experiment here in EVE.

easy enough to copy and paste from another thread without being a **** to newbs who are in the acclimatization phase who didn't know a thing about EvE before they started...

"Step 1. Disband your corp
Step 2. Join Faction Warfare
Step 3. Grind some LP for a day or two so you can afford a crapload of T1 frigs
Step 4. Go make internet spaceships go boom and learn how to PVP while having loads of fun."

Hrmmm, should add another step at some point about finding an experienced player corp to join that is cool with nubs. Maybe next time.

You need to lighten up, the ridicule bit was sarcasm. My statement remains true though, in the original post his solution was to drop corp and turtle up, while a completely valid strategy to avoid a wardec it is somewhat pointless, because they'll learn nothing from it.

Losing a fight against Cannibal Kane isn't shameful, he's good at what he does and he'd probably pass on pointers if asked. Hiding from it .. meh.

I am not looking for sympathy, nor advice actually. What my OP was asking for is explanation, simple as that. And few helpful players did explain to me what's going on.

I made a decision not to go beyond frigates until I have certain skills maxed out, I don't want to spend isk on bigger hulls until I maximize their potential. That being said, how do you suggest I lose to him ? And what am I going to learn by getting killed by Kane? The same lesson the guy who brought a knife to a gunfight learned? You say losing to Kane isn't shameful, I say losing to Kane is stupid if you can avoid it.

You say I turtle up? no i am not "turtling" up, I am an ant scrambling for its nest to avoid being squished by an elephant.

This is my first thread on the forums, got to see the sharp contrast between the altruistically helpful players, and the other kind that honestly should just stay away from anything involved with rookies. Trolling new citizens seems like a passtime for many, like that drunk guy who contributed nothing to the thread except for his 2 cents on how a ps3 shooter doesn't mean anything to him.

Hey! What about us selfishly (moderately) helpful sorts?

P.S. Learning about PvP in hisec is rough, and it takes too long. Come join Gallente Militia in a Player Corp and you will learn much faster. (find the corp first as there might be a couple things you want to do before being at war like moving ships and setting up supplies).

even thoguh it may have been said a bit harshly by some others it is true the at this moment there is little reason for eve players to care who owns a dust district. you get some bonuses to POS processes if you hapen to own one in molden heath around a planet in which dust mercs in your corp also own a district... so almost nobody.

im currious to know who your main group is as might shed some light on th reasons for the war, wouldent be the first war delcared on sombody because of who they are known to work with.

Generally ppl get wardecced because they stand out, mostly because they spam, troll or boast a lot. In most games you can get away with that but in EVE people can call you on it. So unless you know how to bite, don't bark.

Or because they mine somewhere. It's really hard to say what goes through the mind of someone who wardecs people in highsec, and keeping low profile all the time means you're not enjoying the game. So I guess - no matter what, learn how to bite :)

Nah, just because someone is mining, in and of itself, means nothing. Generally it's people having a big mouth, a stupid name or corp name or or something similar that stands out.

Here's the reason everyone is jumping on him. He isn't reading a damn thing and thinks he knows what's going on. The original question is a whine...why pay 50mil? It's a game mechanic and you're a free target. The part about owning Molden Heath is also laughable.

Read the avoiding loss part real close...becuase at this point he thinks he can and hasen't read anything about why you would actually fight the guy. Then check out the only flying frigates part where he thinks to even fight he needs something bigger.

I'm the gay man and you're the one taking it up the poopchute from Kane? How's his bird taste after that?
