Are we going to read another blog this year by a goon where they got extremely cozy with a bunch of dev's (the goon leader with his arm draped over a rather notable employee of CCP on page 1 of link), got them into some VIP rooms, then drunk, (for those that report this as rumour-mongering, click on the link, page 1, 5th paragraph http://www.tentonhammer.com/eve/spymaster/83).

Because we all know that people when drunk DON'T lose their inhibitions (the CCP employee mentioned in the article would have jumped up on the table and taken his shirt off anyway) and are NOT AT ALL pliable to suggestion and giving away information that they should not.

Hey CCP, how about establishing a policy where devs and game designers should not knowingly fraternize with customers, where it could lead to situations that have the appearance of "potential conflicts of interest".

Appearances mean everything.
Just ask any politician, or celebrities, or anyone in the public eye.
And yes, within the confines of the Eve universe, devs and game designers are very much within the public eye.

yes devs are not allowed to foster or maintain friendships Straight

they are not to smile at or speak to players in anything other than a blank monotone

they may take their shirts off only in a professional, monitored dev-player lapdance setting

drinks are limited to water and chocolate milk. not strawberry.
