Maintaining core faction standings

Hi,

Im just starting up with missions and would like to maintain positive standings with the 4 empire factions if possible. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about this please?

I understand that I can decline any missions that involve killing another empire faction but what if i get a string of them and dont want to take the standing hits?

In addition, are there any factions in empire that stay neutral as it were and won't send me against the four core factions at all?

Thanks,

Morbius.

I run 1 L4 agent for amarr and one agent for gallente, and that *would* keep all 4 empires positive if I ran the amarr one a bit more.

You can reject the odd extra mission, the standing hit once or twice a month isn't the end of the world. People that blitz actually use their standings as a buffer against a string of low value missions.

I invested in my alt being able to do L4s for the same agents by sharing the rewards, so that means that I can just log it on and trigger a new mission.

Every empire faction is negative to factions in the opposing bloc[1], so there's no silver bullet there.

Declining anti-empire missions is usually the safest way to go. You'll still take hits when you complete storylines, but they'll never be enough to restrict your access to opposing factions.

If you run up against multiple anti-empire missions in a row -- jump to another nearby agent. Plan accordingly and you should be good.

Just run missions for two opposing factions and avoid the faction kill missions (Amarr and Minmatar or Caldari and Gallantte).

What i mean buy that is every now and again run the storyline mission you get every 16 missions. If that storyline was for an Amarr agent then swap to a Minmatar agent and run mission for them until you get a storyline for them and run that.

If you balance things out right just running missions for those two factions agents should give you positive faction standings to all major factions. As each faction likes other factions up to a level (Amarr like the caldari) . Also the amount of faction standings you gain is always more than you lose for the opposing faction.

my alt runs caldari, amarr, and gallente missions, ever so slightly negative to amarr, and a bit more negative to gallente. I could probably get them all slightly positive, but I'm lazy. I'll probably go back to him soon as the LP stores he works with are far more valuable (I'm working for 9.9 caldari faction for the 2 run cnr bpc, 9.84 now!)

Chainsaw however is -9.68 to gallente, and -7.06 to minny. and tbh I don't really care. no reason to go down to either of those places.

Decline faction kill missions, travel once in a while, and you can easily keep all 4 empires at 5 or above.

Also get standings to run the 4 empire epic arcs and run the SOE arc every 90 days. they do wonders to your overall faction standings

Naturally when I was new I went off and killed Gallantee and Minnies when offered missions, as I didn't know any better.

Had to work the plan a lot to repair that mistake.

Faction Repair Plan

Recently I started running all the career agents as a top up but thought the drop reacting to opposed gains was a bit heavy.

Much as Chainsaw Plankton suggests I normally share my turn in's with corp and alts,, if the agent offers a low value mission and I have done a decline in the last 4 hours then rather than change agent or take a standing hit an alt or corp mate pulls missons till they get cornered with low value or faction. Will never accept a faction kill mission now, if it is a story line I will look for a minimum hit blitz strategy.

Best tip I can give is work the plan.. get tags on the go.

With regard to running missions for an opposing faction it will be a bit of a grind to get an agent or Corp to like you enough, the good thing being that you only need one company to love you. Don't scatter efforts onto many agents.

Actually, there is only one Faction that is positive to all Empire Factions.

The Interbus.

If you check the Inter-Faction Relationships table (Top one), you'll see they are positive to all except Pirate Factions.

http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Standings#Standing_Relationships
The 'In-Game Inter-Faction Relationships' graph is read from the top down. The 'Derived Inter-Faction Standing Modifier' graph is read from left to right.

The Interbus doesn't have any storyline agents and the missions handed out by Interbus agents aren't supposed to have Empire Faction targets. This is because The Interbus is jointly owned by all Empire Factions. The Interbus gives Loyalty Points with the mission reward but they don't have an LP Store. You should be able to do missions without incurring any changes to your Empire Faction standings. Also only a few of their missions will affect Security Status ratings. Those would be Pirate encounters like Worlds Collide, Vengeance, Blockade, etc.

Basically, The Interbus is a neutral Corporation that offers missions without affecting Empire. I view them as the Retirement Corp for after you have gained max positive standings with all Empire Factions. With The Interbus you can still do missions without having to watch your standings or jump between Factions and or decline Anti-Empire encounter missions.

Course the price for that is no LP Store and no storyline agents with special item rewards.

Well, that's how it used to be. I don't know if The Interbus is still the same now due to all of the recent changes that CCP has done to this game, the agents, the missions, the standings, etc. Probably a good idea to have CCP verify this.

Good luck to you.
