This is my second post of the story telling nature, and just like the last one, this post is being used to make this belt go by just a little faster :P

The stage is set thusly: our carebear-y miner has recently swapped corps to repay a favor to his hauling friend. He and another buddy make the 13 jump voyage willingly, happy to make the trip to help out a mutual friend and perhaps gain some experience.

So, with this setting, we find our miner in a belt in the corp home system, mining happily. This system has much better ore than his last corp's had. His friend has logged for the day, and the miner has opted out of the usual Vent chat in favor of some background music.

Suddenly, without warning, that hated alarm of downed shields rings out. The miner frantically scans local, looking for some evidence of his aggressor. Nobody but corpmates. "What is going on here?! Rats?" He checks, no rats in this belt, and his puppy dog drones are not engaged. "What is this?!"

His retriever goes belly up, and his pod soon follows.

Upon waking in the med bay, the miner checks the kill info. Betrayal. Two corpmates had simultaneously hit him under the guise of providing mining security. When questioned, it comes to light that the friend that both the miner and his buddy had come to help was suspected of being a traitor, and by association, so was he. Our miner quits the corp, leaving behind a 20 mil corp bounty, all he could afford. Flying away, the miner scoffs at his next notification. 200 mil ISK bounty has been assigned to his head.
