How does Cov-ops skill effect Virus strength?

It just says +10 but I recently went from Cov-ops IV to V and I noticed no change for either my data or relic scanners. At lvl 4 I had coh at 110 and strength at 40 and now at lvl 5 they are the same....

I use T2 analyzers btw

But also looking at the base stats I was trying to figure out how they are improved upon fitting with the skill. Is it a hard 10 or 10% neither seemed to really be clear

It's a role bonus. Ship's role bonus is not affected by any skill.

Ah I thought that might of been the case later and when I checked my Eve App on my phone, it had that listed under the Cov-ops skill. Just logged in now and yup Role Bonus.
