Piñata Cans are a slap in the face

Dear CCP:

I played your mini-game, even enjoyed it. No complaints there.

I finally won the mini-game, only to have my reward scattered every which direction.

Having to scramble around collecting loot like a beggar with spare change thrown at him is insulting.

Having most of the loot despawn anyways is a slap in the face.

If I must play and win the mini-game, just give me the damn loot please.

Its more important to nerf the bots, which is why the loot scatters after the minigame.

Its like going to Tijuana, you need 2 condoms.

I have to admit, I did not find the loot scatter too annoying, at first.

When you do it over and over and have to zoom in and out to get easier clicks and manage to still see stuff and have to mouse over cans to see what they are ... it's starting to drive me slightly insane.

I am pretty sure a bot can't play the hacking game, and as far as rewards. I'd be happier if my ship could automatically grab cans that I have to _target_ first, as in Ctr-Click target, I mean, the same cans that got away before will still get away now, as it cant grab any faster then 1 per cycle, plus on top of that, stuff I targeted will still fly out of range if I don't move etc, I mean, I dont know about you guys, but my brain keeps making me click on cans until they get grabbed as I am never sure I clicked on one or missed it.

I'm just saying that the combined effort of zooming + mouse over checks + clicking + keeping track of colour + having to move AFTER running a hacking mini game seems a TAD excessive.

I'm just saying that some tweaking to the mechanics would be nice.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

I've been into the exploration side of eve for over two years now and guess what...I've actually learned to enjoy the new scatter grab mechanic. It's about adaptation, chance, insight, realization of exploration as more distinct profession.

It is true that I at first did not enjoy the scatter feature on Sisi, but the proper changes were made and now it's good.

That is all I have to say.

CCP needs to put the spawned can's in the overview. I have to play with my graphics way down as I use an old PC so its not easy to see. So no fun for me....

I simply find it a bit strange that the level of clicking and moving around is more work then running a logi ship or cleaning up in a Noctis.

I don't want it "easier" if that would mean we would collect too much loot, I just want it "less frantic". For goodness sake, it's like playing Hungry Hungry Hippos half the time.

Would have been more logical:
* We spot a can we want, double-click it, our ship "locks it in" ie marked for retrieval. Lock appears, you KNOW you clicked it. That's it.
* We've locked an incorrect can? now we still need to manually unlock it and mark another one.
* Anything locked but flown out of range - skipped, just like when you try to salvage a can out of range in a Noctis.
* Tractor beam still limited to same speed/distance, so can only get so much.

Result:
* Amount of cans grabbed by a single player - Same
* Amount of frantic mouse spinning, First Person Shooter frantic aiming at stuff - Reduced

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

Well, the mini-game is good. I tried between falcon (just for luls) and a covert ops. 50% or lower, of the time I fail in falcon, 95%+ I succeed in covert ops.

What I don't like, is that once the mini-cans jettisoned out, built-in tractor beam is too... I don't know, slow and laggy? Probably might be a good idea to increase its performance by 25% or more and probably will be ok. I think it actually take more than a second once it reaches the ship AND to auto-loot. Didn't like that.

So far, I enjoy the mini-game. Whether that will persist with time, or not, remains to be seen. Though after 200-ish sites (i.e. around 1200 mini-games) it hasn't gotten to that point. I would like to see it iterated on, tbh.

I found the loot explosion extremely frustrating until I had my 2nd account follow me around in a Crane (and it's always been around for dual-boxing other exploration sites). With dual-boxing it is quite easy to get all the cans, even the scrap cans, so...meh.

So far only one person spoken as he don't dislike loot bukkake. I hope CCP stuff is smart enough to realize some of their ideas make game worse and this mechanics should be removed to make exploration less unattractive*.

* process of moving bubbles on black screen (a.k.a. "scanning") isn't fun as well - removing it will improve gameplay.

The loot spawn is pretty ****** but, remove scanning are you serious? They already launch your probes into formation and have dumbed it down so much in this patch.

CCP introduced the Noctis and salvage drones to specialize and thrive on tractoring and salvaging wrecks.

We need something similar for hacking.... a ship which automagically locks and tractors in multiple loot cans simultaneously.

It's silly that something like chasing down space garbage even requires human interaction, aren't there computers, robots, and drones in EVE to handle all of the menial tasks like this?

I have experienced the opposite of these complaints. I have yet to fail a mini-game so far (T1 Frig - no other boosts) and collecting the loot is easy if you just zoom out. Maybe this is based on having not done enough sites yet, but I feel that this is the easiest isk I have ever made on a sub-2M sp toon (I'm just over 100k on this new guy and he rocks those sites like a champ).

Also to elaborate on the loot cans; I love them! Its nice to have a system that provides a nice randomized distribution of loot while providing the perception that my selection of cans had a direct impact on my profit (I've been going after everything except scrap cans and making ~50m/h).

Agreed; chasing loot cans is annoying as hell. I like the game too but the can chasing has to stop. It's tedious, cluttered, requires more screen space than there is and most of all, it's unnecessary. If it's there just for bots, screw it; why **** us off because joe unnamed want's to cheat. Ban him and let us have fun.

Anyway, I doubt it will be changed. Since Odyssey's release I've probed in high, low and null but I can't stand it anymore. Between the 'loot spew' and trying to position my probes with huge lists of text popping up instantly to block anything I try to do, it's lost any charm it had for me. Hate probing now.
