All Cosmos Static Complexes Not working after Odyssey

Are you people talking about the COSMOS constellation missions for specific factions, like Gallente/Caldari/Minmatar/Amarr/Angels/Guristas? Or are you referring to something else?

I think that is all of them, right?

More or less, we are primarily talking about the COSMOS rooms which drop the components which are needed to build the COSMOS mods from the BPCs which pilots get from running the COSMOS missions via COSMOS agents.

For example the 'Contested Gallente Skeleton Comet site', this site has several rooms, two of which have cans which contain the items for building the COSMOS mods.

There are three main issues since the Odyssey patch at the start of the month:

1) The cans which drop the components to build the COSMOS mods do not respawn, once opened and looted these cans remain empty until after the next DT.

2) The components (and the ratio) dropped from these cans is all screwed up.

and since yesterday:

3) Any COSMOS site which contains cans which are opened now entirely disappear.

This was part of the recent patch 'fix' ie: "An issue with Exploration sites not despawning has been fixed. Now, when any container is successfully hacked a despawn timer initiates"

COSMOS sites of this nature are *static*, they are not meant to despawn.

In short since the start of this month CCP has:

A) Brought the production of COSMOS mods to a halt.

B) Royally screwed up the market price for Sleeper/Talocan/etc skill books.

and now...

C) Messed up the general running of COSMOS missions as some of the sites now despawn.

I have reported this to CCP and also pointed them at this thread.

If you find it impossible to finish COSMOS missions after the latest update, please file a support ticked under the 'stuck' category.
In all other circumstances file one under general gameplay or file a bug report.

Apart from that problem, the static cosmos hacking sites weren't easy pre patch as the hardest sites dish out ~1k DPS. Pre patch it was manageable as you just activated your analyzer and waited for the hack while you were killing some rats to reduce the DPS or RR each other.
With the minigame and those spreading containers now those sites are nearly impossible, you can handle the DPS while you are doing the minigame for sure but the major problem are those spreading containers because all cosmos sites i know have this freaking nebulas and you have to zoom in to catch those containers. Well have fun at 5fps because those nebulas are known cause for lagging (see Blockade mission), you can at best catch 1 or 2 containers before they disappear.

Pre patch the nebulas were no problem at all as you didn't have to zoom in for any reason, now you have to zoom in and the lag caused by the nebulas becomes an issue.


I didn't know at that time that the whole respawn process is broken, but for me the nebulas and zooming in is a major problem that cause so much lag you can grab at best 1 or 2 cans.

I posted this as a SUPPORT TICKET 2 days ago....still waiting:

With all of the nightly patches this past week+, too much is wrong. I spent 4 days watching video of the new HACKING procedure, and spent the last 3 days at the Crypt in Garisas. Learning the mapping process and what the different tools are used for took a lot of time. Tonight I flew to Garisas to work some more....but the entire entrance to get to the Crypt has completly dissappeared. 5 days learning, and the Crypt is suddenly gone. I flew 2 jumps over to Zimse to explore the COSMOS Museum Arcana...with my "Key of the Arcane" in my ships hold (which I had to earn from an agent) and arrived at Zimse only to find the same problem. The entrance to the Museum Arcana is nowhere to be seem. This is my 10th year playing Eve, and I believe change-is-good. But to spend days trying to learn a new process that is introduced, then to have the entire site it is used at completely dissappear? It is beginning to look like our Eve CHANGE is more like Eve CHAOS. It begins to become frustrating when each daily patch brings me to wondering "what will I not be able to do today"? The Crypt in Garisas; The COSMOS Museum Arcana in Zimse. Could someone tell me what is going on, and if there are any expectations of their returning to Eve-existence?

In short...

1) These sites are disappearing because CCP applied the same 'despawnings timer' to static COSMOS sites as well as standard 'Exploration sites' (ie: sites which you have to scan down).

2) Even if CCP didn't apply the same 'despawnings timer' to these static sites chances are that you wouldn't be able to run these COSMOS sites because the cans do not respawn, that is once they are hacked/analyzed after DT they do not respawn the components needed to build COSMOS mods from the COSMOS BPCs.

So, there is no point in trying to do cosmos right now to up my standings so I can do galente epic arc.......Cry

I love my Macbook Pro and the OSX series, but I have come to hate the iProducts like iPhone, iPad, etc. So am I considered an "Apple Fanboy" or not?

I wonder if (when) they will fix that?! I remember i got the key for museum and labyrinth a year ago before i stoped playing EvE. Ever since i wanted to get into those complexes and now since i came back to EvE i flew to Zimse and Aphi and didnt find any gate and i am disappointed that i didnt get the chance to explore it...

Tried running a few of the Minmatar COSMOS missions a couple nights ago... To say it was a mess and a cluster-**** is an understatement. I wound up checking the skill queues on my accounts and headed off to spend some time on another game to help unwind from the work day.

Just received GM response to petition.

GM said that all COSMOS missions currently broken and the fix will not be ready until Tuesday.

So be calm and wait until Tuesday :)

Not a damn thing in there about how the static plexes were patched so they no longer despawn but the original problem with the containers not respawning remains.
CCP, this kind of BS info in the patch notes makes you guys look like fools rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic while it is sinking.
Post the info about what was actually fixed and gives us a time frame for when the other stuff will be fixed. State specifically what it is you will be doing to fix it (e.g. Containers will be patched to respawn more than just after downtime and loot tables will be fixed to uncripple storyline item production).

COSMOS is still a relevant and important part of Eve don't ignore it.

Edit: Seems a dev has immediately responded in another thread posted yesterday. Despite the fact this one has been going for weeks...

Indeed. Spend a month politely saying "Hey there is a problem here" and you get ignored. Call someone a 'fool' and they are Johnny on the spot with a reply.

My gameplay for the last 6 months has focused around the cosmos areas and storyline item production. I currently pay for 2 accounts that involve this content. I let my accounts lapse for over a year once already and frankly given my available time I likely would again if this content doesn't get its function restored.

The issue has been resolved. Sites no longer despawn and the containers now respawn.

Can you doubly confirm that the drop rate for the Skill Books is currently correct?
