40:20 eyesight means you need to get a pretty good sized IPS.
I can recommend Dell U2312HM. Got two myself and they're great, not too expensive either! Looking to get a third. Big smile

Would it be possible to have a slidery slider thingy for choosing the size increase/ decrease?

I assume this will be for all aspects of the UI and not individual components?

Some of us have microscopic vision and want to make certain aspects of the UI EXTRA small so we can fit more stuff in it, say, local chat. half the size and then make it as long as longcat so we can see more people. :D (or am I barking up the wrong tree?)

Aside (to Guard): Are we getting a dev-blog a day? :D :D :D

Is there a reason why there is only a 90% for the smaller options and no 80% or 70%, obviously I have not tried it, but more virtual screen realestate would be great.

Good step in the right direction, but not everything on the screen is of equal importance, thus


  • Can we have each part of the UI scaled individually?


    E.g.
  1. The HUD you showed can stay the same size, I need it for refence.
  2. Id like to have a bigger overview, to easier also see the EW notifications
  3. The information in the upper left corner can be scaled down (I hardly use it)
  4. I want to priorize my chat windows, corp chat is less important than fleet chat, corp chat should use a small font as lots of stuff flows, fleet chat is usually just a few words but of high importance
  5. The targeted object window I want to have bigger (to easier identify the ship and their current shield/armor/hull
  6. ...

This should make those with silly big screens happy...

Now can we have the old font back? or at least give us the option to choose the font? frankly the new one gives me a headache and looks like something out of a cartoon, it really doesn't fit eve at all.

With the Scalability set up, surely its not too much of a leap to allow a choice of font and then scale according to that choice?

CCP PLEASE PLEASE For the love of the typography god, DO NOT EVER SCALE FONTS when they dont possess the cut for that size. I can understand that it might be a quick fix, but please get the guy who did this attrocious new font to at least get around and design the damn thing for ALL of the scalability to be seen clear.

The only complaint I had (others reported the same), when testing on SiSi was the text in tabs seems to be bottom aligned and not middle aligned, this often resulted in the lower portion of the text being obscured by the window frame line.

You can just about see it in your picture of the 90% and 100% view of the asset window, although on my screen the text is even further down below the window frame line. The 110% looks the best as to how it should be aligned.

If you fix drones, and I mean stop them from switching targets, make OGRES stop trying to kill FRIGATES first and perhaps up the dps 50% or more.... seriously ccp, Drone Interfacing lvl 5 and Gallente Battleship lvl 5 gives 5 Ogre IIs less than 500 dps and it's their main weapon? wtf? Especially when there are no modules / implants to improve this. *most* dominix fits don't utilize guns for anything other than drawing aggro. Sorta wished I hadn't trained 7m drone sp afterall. But I still love you long time.

More to the point, if you make this patch truly wonderful, I will go to the classrooms in my college and bring you hundreds of subs.
You guys really need to have the Art dept make a flyer for these purposes, to hang up in hallways and etc.

A proposal for this awesome change:

Instead of choosing 90% it would be better to choose a value like 91% or so, because at 90% some pixels disapearing because of the screen grid. So give us values, that are adapated to our screen resolution.

This is a great addition, however I would prefer a separate option to scale just the UI text, as I'm happy with the size of my HUD and have never experienced HUD envy...

The reason I'll be using the scaling option will be to reduce the size of the new font to something like it's current size on TQ, but I'd rather not have to reduce the size of all my icons, controls and the HUD in order to achieve that.

Apart from that small niggle, this is a fantastic piece of work Big smile
