EVE Vegas approaches, and the buzz is starting to grow. This year's gathering of EVE players in the gambling capital of the world is looking to be even bigger and even better than last year.

To assist in making it easier and more cost effective for people to make the trip, CCP are offering EVE Vegas 4 PLEX for the first time.

CCP Guard is here to tell you a little more about what's in store if you decide to come along, and how to redeem PLEX for a ticket. You can read all about it in his new Dev Blog!

I would be VERY VERY careful about this CCP, as the US Federal Goverment may have a problem with Real World goods and services being purchased by the use of in game currency. You may want to check with the lawyers on this one.

Our in-house lawyers were involved in the process of making this a reality. They are good people to have around when you have a habit of having a lot of crazy ideas :)

Just some friendly advice you may also want to consult with your bail bondsman I'm an expert on these things

Did you know that under US FEDERAL LAW killing someone in space is also a crime? I'd advise you to be VERY VERY careful about this. Just some friendly business advice from The Internet.

So all it took is me moving back to Europe for CCP to start organizing events there -.-. How about EVE-Paris?

This isnt a CCP organised event.

Its a player ran event with some ccp support and involvement - this year that support is greater than ever.

So how about YOU organise eve-paris and see if they attend ;)

OK , let's see here , in order to create a PLEX , it must first be bought with RL currency. The Plex exists as a token of that currency no different than a poker chip. If you do not use that PLEX to extend an account (or lose at the tables in the case of the chip) then it can be turned back in for RL and not house currency.

The gist of the lesson is, CCP exchanges the token of RL currency for a ticket to the event.

This is correct. What Zapawork has done with EVE Vegas has brought it to a level where it makes ample sense for CCP to throw in more support than for any other player organized event thus far. We hope it raises the attention of other event organizers in the community :). Along with growing the event even further of course.
