You live in K-space where the hacking game is so easy it's a bloody joke. Move into a C5/C6 wormhole and try the hacking game in there. It will shrivel up your enthusiasm. I've got a maxed out character with a rigged Tech III ship with the subsystem bonus and I still fail games with some regularity because nothing beats getting restoration nodes or virus suppressors in chains that chew up so much of your coherence that you just get down to the last three or four spots on the board and don't have enough to clear them left.

Add to that the mere fact that wormhole space has no local and everyone tries to jump everyone (I am usually the one jumping people in their sites rather than the other way around, so I'd know a thing or two about that) and the fact that clearing all the cans takes so long that it really ramps up the danger and you begin to understand that a hacking boost would be nice. Plus, it puts another ship out there to hunt down and kill. Everyone wins (hunters and the hunted).

Even in null your experience is just "hop in a covert ops frigate and try to hack and warp off if there's a mere hint of a neut in local." Pretty easy isk, even if you suck at the hacking game in a major way.

This is a non sequitur. Not only did I not say that it should work off-grid, but also CCP has already said that they plan to make all boosting on-grid, last I checked. They're still working on that.

First of, the OP has the right to post an idea to discuss and has the right to expect a civil and healthy discussion as a result. You don't have to agree, but post your arguments in a civil manner please.

I have removed some off topic and trolling remarks.

4. Personal attacks are prohibited.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another forum user. Posts of this nature are not beneficial to the community spirit that CCP promote and as such they will not be tolerated.

5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

22. Post constructively.

Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve EVE Online provided that it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All users are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding EVE Online and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. Users are also reminded that posting with a lack of content also constitutes non-constructive posting.

26. Off-topic posting is prohibited.

Off-topic posting is permitted within reason, as sometimes a single comment may color or lighten the tone of discussion. However, excessive posting of off-topic remarks in an attempt to derail a thread may result in the thread being locked, or a forum warning being issued.
