Issue is still active.

Evelopedia needs some Dev attention.

Hell yeah, I've been (frustratingly) unable to use the wiki with the right char for months now. And I would not have discovered this workaround (I have yet to test) if Faulx did not post it in the Live Events forum. Thanks for that, Faulx!Cool

Until now I thought it was an issue that only affected me.

Edit: Also, I will only subscribe to the "original" thread here, so if any useful info comes on the other threads, please share here!

Since there's no word from Dev's then the issue must still be active.

This seriously needs attention.

I'm hoping that this issue will be fixed when they release this:

We will also be releasing the SSO update to Account Management, EVE Gate, Forums and the EVElopedia in the coming weeks. Once all the website are updated to use the new log in page - after logging in once you will not need to re-enter your credentials when you visit another EVE Online website.

Still broken, even after the "wiki update". It's been 7 months and still no fix. Not even a nod from the website team, saying "we think we know what the problem is". This is horrible customer service.

Hi everyone. Apologies for the time it took for us to get this pushed out to you but the Preferences redirect problem has been resolved. We've also added Single Sign On to Evelopedia and updated the Item Database to Odyssey 1.0. A lot of work has gone into updating the code base and infrastructure for this site but there are still a few visual fixes to come.

Thank you very much, but don't celebrate yet.

Confirmed, after a browser restart and cache clear, the SSO login and wiki preferences pages both load.

However, when I go to change my "Default character", I cannot in any browser. Despite opening the pull down menu and selecting another character, when I go to "Save" my selection, lots of other options save properly, but the selected character perpetually reverts to the default "Default character".

Since the original problem this thread was addressing was the inability to change editing characters, and since now not even the Opera workaround works anymore, we've actually taken a step backward as far as usability is concerned.

Please have another crack at it and keep us updated.

Thanks again.

Wiki web page is down as I type this.

The issue with everything new needing DB Stubs did not get solved with this new version.

A lot of the photos are missing.

Search does not work any better.

All ships that had stats changed need a up date stub added to them until the text gets updated. It would be nice if it could be auto added.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

Yes there are a lot of still to be fixed issues in general. I'm very aware this is a website that needs lots of care to get it up to standard, both in terms of these annoying usage issues and with some of the static content (e.g. the Item Database) currently housed there.

Also, please see this news item in case you're confused why we just reverted back to the old one until next week.

Please feel free to file bug reports on exact issues you encounter. Those get filtered to us and we can better act on them.

The issue is the difference between feature request changes and bugs. Are functionality issues bugs.

I was at the web site round table two fanfests ago and was expecting some improvement in article structure and usability by now. O well

Has the future look and functionality: ie how DB entries and player generated content will be split but still linked, been selected? So we can have a forum conversation about it before you spend your time coding it.

I am quite aware why you did this, as I reported the issue. In fact, it was the dev update in this thread that lead to the discovery of the issue, as I wanted to see for myself wether the changes had any impact on the bug this thread is about, and then stumbled on the potential info leak on Evelopedia.

Because I suspect that the issue may have something to with the bug in this thead, I will wait for the new version of evelopedia before I can make a final judgement about the bug and the "fix" but in the version that is now down, it was actually worse because my username seemed to now be my alt character permanently, even though I did most edits with my main.

The EVElopedia code was actually being developed and maintained by an outsourced company up until recently. This is the first time we have it now 100% in house and under both our product direction and code control. It's been a bit of a semi-orderly (and semi not) mess, it will be that way for another while, but I really, really, really want to tackle this whole thing and find better solutions for a pretty big portion of the content on there.

Future is not fully decided, but I have high level ideas and plans. So yep - thank you for reminding me people do care and would like to have input into the initial discussion! :)

Thanks for the update.Big smile

Since the bug reporting system is down for a couple weeks where do you want the bug reports.

Currently being logged in on the forums and using the Evelopedia drop down link does not log you in.

Last used character on account does not save goes back to main everytime according to Draco Benu

Did some one revert back to the old evelopedia again?

So..............

The lack of absolutely anything happening to EVElopedia code in over two years is because of "another" company?

Until recently I had no problems with the wiki page. Today I saw that I missed the edit button. I can't find it anywhere anymore and I feel lonely without it :(

Also the Special:Preferances page isnt loading for me anymore
Chrome Error 310: (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS).

//Edit: now I also can't login anymore... With Opera it says my PW is wrong. (It's not, tried 100 times with the correct one ;)) And with Chrome/Firefox I get the too many redirects error...
