My Macbook Pro Dual Core i7 2.8 gig laptop runs smooth out in space but very choppy in the station while walking around. Is that because my graphics card only supports DirectX 10 and not 11?

Rig:
Macbook Pro Dual Core i7 2.8 gig
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB graphics

It's probably because the avatar code is a "prototype," in CCP's own words, and performance is iffy in the general case.

EVE runs on DX9, though, so that's definitely not the problem.

The CQ is highly resource intensive. Try turning down interior effects a notch.
