I think the partial scan when 3 probes are hitting a signature is bugged. Pre patch, only hitting the signature with 3 probes would create two hits (one fake, one the real sig) to scan down. Post patch, I have yet to see a two hit sig after lots of scanning.

However, I have seen way more ghost sigs then pre patch where what looks like a full hit all of a sudden disappears when I only drop down one scanning level (say 8.0 au to 4.0 au), whereas prepatch my max scanning toon would never miss a sig even dropping two levels (from 8.0 au to 2.0 au). Considering I am using all the t2 scanning mods and so also get the 20% bonus to pinpointing, this result is rather confusing.

It would make sense though if the partial scan that occurs when only 3 probes are touching a sig is still there, but only one of the points is actually displayed. Especially if its the fake sig thats dispalyed (which would account for all the ghost sigs that look like full scanned sigs that have 4 or more probes touching them).

As it stands, the 1 probe partial scan result is working fine (ie a big filled in red circle), and the 2 probe partial scan works (the lined circle). But can anyone else confirm if they have seen a 3 probe partial scan result in Odyssey where 2 of the same exact sig id are displayed at once?

I have had a few ghost Sigs as well, its like there are 2 red dots but the second (the real one) is just not showing up and the real one is at the opposite end of the probe ball.

Ithjought i had shitload of ghost sigs too but then i fixed my filters right and scanning was normal since then.

I had this problem too, very annoying. Only one dot where there used to be two.

Yeah, I have also had it happen where you drop one level and the sig is gone. That really never happened pre-patch unless I was in hurry and dropped 3 levels or so. I have yet to see the "ghost" sig in the new scanning. And it is not a filter issue.

Yes, if you have to ask yourself the question, just assume we are watching you...

This is still happening for me, and it's getting really annoying. Pre-odyssey I could drop probes in 2-level increments and never lose a sig (4au > 1au > 0.25au etc) and now I'm frequently getting disappearing sigs, especially on the smaller sigs such as Data and Relic sites.

This is when completely centering the probes on the red dot, using the "pinpoint" formation. Either something isn't right or sigs are getting a LOT more deviation than they used to (this is with 4/4/4/4 skills and 1 of each scanning module fitted to a grav rigged Buzzard using Sisters probes/launcher).

The only way to pinpoint these sigs is to drop the probes in 1-level increments, 4au > 2au > 1au etc. It does seem like the "ghost" sig being the only one shown would be the cause of this, but it's impossible to prove as a player.

Some dev input on this issue would be great.

Known bug, bug report #157705 attached to a defect.

Still waiting to be fixed....

Yeah, level 5 skills, implants, best hardware.....still lose sigs.
