Offlined cloak & Scan Resolution

I ran into something weird while fitting and using my Ishtar, according to EFT if you offline a cloak you don't get the scan resolution penalty but when I checked in game it DOES still apply. I've been asking around a bit and I ended up with 4 answers:

- "no idea"
- "I'm 100% certain that it should work"
- "I'm 100% certain that it shouldn't work"
- "damnit, CCP is at it again!"

Apart from the obvious in game fact, did this work previously and if changed was this on purpose?

The description says "... high sensor disruption while fitted ..." and this includes off-line modules. It would have to say "... while online ..." for you to have a point.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Offline cloaks have given the scan res penalty for a long time. At least four years, I'd say.

Hmm ok, in that case EFT has it wrong. Well, at least that's cleared up, thanks :)

I can also confirm that this was already the case 4-5 years ago.

Cool, I didn't know you could offline a module in EFT. I only knew about inactive/active/overheat states.

Confirming it's always been this way. It'd be pretty silly if the penalty didn't still apply while offlined, or else you could just offline the cloak as soon as you decloak on most fits and avoid any real sacrifices.

Modules in EFT can only be active or inactive. The red cross does not mean offline but only inactive as in weapons that are not firing or an AB that is not turned on. As such the cloak would still apply its negative effects.

Control + left click makes them offlined.
