Excellent idea. In order to make this a success CCP also needs to add a minigame that needs to be completed every mining cycle or the mining ship gets transported to a lowsec system as well. In addition the auto pilot should have a random chance of sending you through the wrong gate (including lowsec gates). I envision that the auto pilot error is low during day time, but increases at night, and you can decrease the chance of an error by training the new navigation skill "Drunk Piloting".

Now that name doesn't suit - you ARE a pretty smart cookie :)

Thank you for bringing that up Sipphakta and Tippia, let's lay this out as a pro/con argument

For the ganker:

  1. this person likes to enjoy eve by actively identifying areas where ships are badly fitted. This is a definite plus
  2. this person wants to aspire to be a pirate and hasn't yet got round to making the move
this person obviously wants to learn more about Losec and enjoys the thrill of being tested himself

How do you come to the conclusion that the ganker wants to learn about low-sec? You see, the ganker goes through all the trouble to help him survive in high-sec (Alt to bring ships in and scout, using only fast aligning ships to avoid faction police etc), why would you want to take that away from him? Surely if he wanted to go to low- or null-sec he would already be there.

A ganker also is not a pirate or wants to be one. Pirates hunt for profit, gankers hunt for tears.
It just seems to me you want to take away a playstyle that has existed for 10 years for no reason at all - You still haven't pointed out what the problem you are trying to solve is.

Actually its the other way around.. Pirates hunt in low sec for fights and tears. When they are low on isk, they go gank in high sec. having done both a lot I can definately say that I have made way more ganking stuff in high sec (1-2 months total) compared to looting my targets in loe sec (4-5 years). You only need patience to get a kill dropping billions in loot for you ganking. In low sec you mainly loot a max of 100 mil per kill, which you have to split with your fleet anyway.

See this is where it starts to get more interesting

If you go out to lo-sec to shoot them it will help CCPs concept of populating lo-sec, establishing lo-sec hub points and so will be a more target rich environment!!

Good move I say :)

-10 concord should pop you. Prevent -10 from highsec smartie ganking but not any other activities. The smartie ganking is stupid. I can sit my -10 in Jita and shop pod kill people all day without consequence.

But that is definitely against games rules as a NPC is not allowed to pop a pod.

Nope - send them out to lo-sec repair the mistake is a good alternative to no consequence imo

I'm not sure what all that mumbo jumbo is about but no one needs your help. Maybe try convincing people to not pack 3bil worth of crap into a paper airplane and ghost ride it while watching reruns on Hulu.

Nope I mean instaspawn scram their ships. Faction is too slow to stop them with insta-warp bms

Against

  1. he will not be present to point out people's poor ship fits
  2. he will not be allowed to harness high sec tears
  3. he will not have any high sec epeen because in high sec no one will see him - he will be in lo-sec

For CCP

  1. this will help gameplay for those particular type of players, help fulfil the requirement to get out of high sec into Losec and null sec
  2. purchase of more accounts
  3. less feedback on the forms to deal with both for the ganker and gankee

And thank you Jake for your very constructive post - not

As always - constructive feedback is encouraged - but not expected

I have not even managed to move beyond this post because your series of stacked assumptions based off of your personal opinion and their complete disregard for fact, reality, and the ignorance of choices others make has left me deeply amused.

LOL
You caught me out - guilty as charged. I am glad it amused you so what I would now ask is to put up some facts based on YOUR perspective that are for and against.

I make my isk from the gankers and the gankees. Who do you think supplies the dessies and the barges. Its a win-win for me. Leave it alone.

As do I, but this does highlight the Jita problem (de-centralizing empire trade hubs) and making people responsible for their actions.

What problem does your proposal solve?

Are you really so blind? Obviously it allows EvE to be played as it should: by AFK'ing and botting around highsec without a care in the world, while you do other things such as download porn, stuff your face, watch movies, and be a general leech on the arse of humanity.

I'd say it's a great idea! It will let me play EvE without taking time away from contributing to the growing obesity epidemic!

No consequence? If they're -10, you can legally pop them without any sort of reprisal from CONCORD, and yes, this includes their pod. Train up an insta-locker, and harvest the tears of the flashy reds who enter highsec.
