Getting tired of micro patches

Getting really tired of these little 6MB micro patches for the launcher that I'm not even using. Can you NOT increment the entire game's version every time you tweak an image in the damned launcher?? I'm happy running from exefile.exe, and NEVER want to see the launcher.

I am hoping for the day when one of these patches fix the damn sound issue that keeps the warp sound cycling even though your docked.

Are they patches for the launcher, or patches for the game?

And if they are patches for the game, do we really want them to hold off on smaller bugfixes for a week at a time and hit us with one large patch each week?

I thought this is what the launcher was for. To allow CCP to more quickly and easily patch their game.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

Right, because MMOs with such a complex codebase almost never have to patch or update code.

I'm not a fan of the launcher atm either, but if you're multi-boxing from the same install, use the launcher for your first login and the exefile link for the rest and you'll be fine. If you've just got the one character, the launcher works much better than the initial release.

I'm waiting for the day people stop complaining about the launcher, which is really not that bad, and just let the game auto-patch.

1. Witness player hate the launcher and use .exe to launch eve.
2. CCP releases patches on almost a daily basis.
3. Launcher hating player must use launcher to update game before he can use.exe.
4. CCP wins.

You're only seeing "micro patches" because you're running from ExeFile.exe. Your client starts up and finds out it's out of date, and starts the EVE Launcher to patch; the only way to connect to Tranquility is with an up-to-date client.

Everyone is always repeating the mantra "Don't Trust Anyone" ad nauseum... If I can't trust the guys I play with, why bother playing with them at all? Fly Solo...

My launcher loads each new patch before I can finish typing my PW...

I don't see a problem here.

You wouldn't if you had really nice internet. For people who don't live in a developed (lol) area, like the US, dialup is still an option ;) taking 3 hours to download 35mb is kind of painful on my gameplay.

The launcher's fine - it does what it's supposed to do - patch the damned game and launch it for you.
I'd prefer it if I didn't have to go back to the launcher every time I wanted to change a character, but I can live with that.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

I dont complain much.. rarely even.

But can you please ask the guys to fix that annoying warp sound that keeps playing even when your not in warp.

I have to disable the sound ingame and enable again for it to go away.

I have to agree.

It exits and loads so quickly that I am over that now as I've had worse experiences with loading screens/switching characters in other games.

Honestly, if they would let me have multiple launchers open, I wouldn't even care about dropping back to the launcher. I'm not sure if that's technically feasible though.
