I would like to see a new (Tier one combat cov ops cruiser) with a new weapon system

The weapon system would be a new laser that sticks to the target like a target painter but does damage, it would be balanced by needing alot of energy / capacitor energy etc.. and also it would require a firing up time much like the time it takes to fire up a micro jump drive modified with skills etc, though the ship would also have a long range warp disrupt range.

I would like this because it would be fun to jump into something less expensive and be able to attack a large variety of targets, and join fleets etc much like you can with the current tier one cruisers but in a cloaking style method, the animation would look great as well as the firing up of the beam weapon etc.

I think this could also be good for cloaking - ratting as well perhaps, i think this is something missing in the game that would be really great if it could be balanced with my suggestions or others ideas etc.

Hacking sites

I think it would be a good idea to have a extremely rare chance of a blue-print for limited edition ships, while only being able to create one ship from the blueprint.

We realy do not need more spacialized claoking ships until something is done to balance the local intel / current cloak mechanics.

If you want more kills go shoot a tower or something. You do not need a cloaked ship to get kills.

After centuries of debating and justifying... Break Cloaks tm

I have a counter proposal.

You could use existing ships and not divert time and resources from other more urgent and interesting projects than spend them on something there is no need or demand for.

All i am saying is to give the concept a fair chance, as i think it could be useful for fleets and fun for those who enjoy stealth game-play.

There are already, are called recon ships.

cloaky ships are somewhat difficult. i love them to some extend, i would love basically a cloaky assault frig and a cloaky hac.

Cloaky ships are offensively gimp'd for a reason. Plenty of good ideas but if you have a cloak then you should be light on the DPS.

Yes there are force recon but there is no Tier 1 Hull around the same cost of say a caracal or a vexor etc. something that you can jump in and have fun with. it would be light on the dps if you follow my concept of using cap for energy and a spool up time between the beam firing.

Again: cruiser + covert ops = recon ships.

Main strenght for covert ops is the opportunity to decide IF and WHEN to fight and picking up their target. This is balanced by other severe limitations (tank, dps and so on).
It's balanced as is now, if you boost them in any way they become overpowered. And they already have the bonuses you described, like the long range distruptor and so on.

Also: if you make it cheap and give to everyone (extending it to T1 hulls) the chance to decide IF and WHEN engage a fight this will result simply in nobody engaging, it becomes semi-consensual.

Recon cost is also balanced: covert ops is a specialized training, ships cost have to be scaled accordignly.

I'm not saying covert ops cannot be extended/improved. But there're so many balancement and game mechanics evaluate and adjust...

You actully lose any benefit once the cloak is gone, so really there should be ways you can come in and out of cloak in a fight because of the weak tank , dps, as you described then it would be balanced.

Please. Tech 1. It's confusing to see "Tier 1" scattered about and have to think to myself "Does he mean tier or Tech?" and then correct it in my mind. Tiers are dead.

Yes of course Tech one, also to complete this post if you consider the balanced weapon system / concept of using cap and spool up time for a beam weapon *(for example) then the design could work. because the other ship would have time to defend itself but you would be able to attack a large variety of targets solo and in a fleet fight but still be able to use a covert ops cloak in a Tech one cruiser.
