I can't find the eve folder in my mac, I have looked in user/application support and there's no eve folder in there, any suggestions?

Try [your user name]/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/My Documents/EVE/Overview

If the overview file does not exist you'll need to create it. 'Overview'.

Let me know if this works.

Yeah, still nothing, I get as far as application support and there's nothing EVE related in there at all.
Weird.

Yes, finally I found a means to customize more.

However I SOO WISH someone would of found hidden functions already :(

This is what I have so far...

Code:
http://pastebin.ca/2393736

Anything else I could do with this feature, or have I learnt all that I can?

Btw kudo's to the guy who made the program, I was getting annoyed trying to figure out how to get colors to work, and after tinkering with that I figured it out. Also great for seeing which dingbats I could use and those that wouldn't show without testing everyone.

Also a tip for those actively tinkering.
once I get the base solid, that's when I start messing with things. I do bit's by bits, to ensure if I overlook something, like a ";" it's allot faster identifying it and fixing it.

When you import the setting, instead of clicking on your tabs, and waiting it out like some nancy. Open up your overview settings, go to the ship's tab. and click any of the box's twice. You only have to click it once, however the second is to revert it back to what it was prior to. This wil tell the overview to update it's format and load the new settings.

Thanks for the extra insight! there is no single best way to manipulate your EVE client. I enjoy being able to try them all and find even more ways to expand my EVE experience.

On the subject, I've just finished a new paper/method to add to my Client Manipulation Series. I will be adding it this week. To shed a bit of light on it before I release it:

This new method is a bit more complex than my previous ones and should only be done if you are familiar with programming on at least an intermediate level. I am in the process of perfecting the method, after which I will talk with a friend to help me design a program that will do it for you with out touching a piece of code. Thus allowing this to be used by all eve players alike. Including the novice.

This new method will allow you to change practically anything and everything about your EVE experience should you choose to do so. Keep in mind. Per the EULA you are able and allowed to change anything you can or wish to so long as this change does not give you an advantage over another player. All expansions made to the client in my new method are a mix of visual enhancements, mechanical enhancements (Controls, Keys, Client windows. For instance you an run multiple EVE clients in different patterns and instances on your desktop/screen. IE: 4 corners. Allows you to run 4 clients at the same time all on the same screen like the following 1-4 poorly made diagram =)

1 2
3 4

Full color customization of everything you see in game. All text fields, all incoming and outgoing text. etc, etc,.

I will cover this more when i release it. First I must run this past CCP to make sure it is in fact legal. There is some python involved, however, there is now communications with the server so I am pretty sure it's legit. I will get back to everyone on this specific matter as soon as CCP gets back to me. Thanks everyone, as always, for the continued support! fly safe o7

That would be awesome.
I've been trying to figure out how about I would change the font of the menu text. As you can tell I went with a bright yellow :P. I can still see for the most part what Is written ontop, however tbh it's mostly out of memory of what I know is written. I would like to make it so that menu text is instead black. Further adding to the contrast I want. However leaving field text white.

By the sounds of it, you have an idea of how abouts to do this. care to share?

How did you do this and how can I get it?

Weird, perhaps for dingbat's it does look at your own font files, as oppose to a pre-determine list. Just browse this site for the dingbat's you feel indicate visually, and use the program to test is it will show in game for you. If when copy/pasted it displays a box, it wont.

Had to reset my UI up after a client corruption issue. Followed these instructions but I was also having issues with icons showing up as ?s. This is a encoding issue - make sure you are saving using UTF-8. In Notepad++ this setting is Encoding > Encode in UTF-8 and then re-paste the settings.

Yup. I just got my clinet issues resolved so now I can log into EVE. I have to update all my threads for Odyssey now. Some of the mechanics have changed for Overviews, client settings, etc,. Once I have these 4 threads updated I will releases the 5th on the above. I will send you an E-mail as soon as they are up as well.

********************************

If your looking for dingbats you can also try your local "Windows Character Map" or just "Character Map" for Linux and Apple Machines.

1.) In Windows you can go to start and search "Character Map"

2.) Select Advanced Mode or Advanced View depending on the version of windows/linux

3.) Select the Font.

4.) Select Unicoe Subrange in the Group By Catogory.

5.) Select Symbols & Dingbats.

You can not import UTS Characters toi In-game. You can however Export them. Meaning if you edit the code locally you will not be able to save the settings globally for others to use. They will need to manually place their own symbols in the code for it to work.

Thanks for all the support you guys have given me but due to RL issues I must discontinue support for these threads. I just can't find the time to answer all the emails and keep you up to date with updates. Thanks again!

I will try to pick them back up in the future.

This took me ages to work out (being a non-XML Dev) but I found the code to use the <-> for distance and it's: & #8660; (WITHOUT the space between the & and #).

Point to note: that when you Import Overview Settings you need to Logout and Login before they will affect your overview (tested 09-07-2013).

It should also be noted that you can reorder how the 'labels' are viewed e.g.

Pilot Name
Ship Type
Corporation Name
Alliance Name
Speed - THIS CANNOT BE CHANGED, it will always be last and is not editable AFAIK

The <-> code for distance should be added to the last 'label' that you are going to view. On my Overview it's Corporation or, if in an Alliance, then the Alliance Ticker. See my imgur screenshots for code and a visual of what I mean, it's hard to explain sorry.

I've uploaded what I know with my settings to my imgur account and can be viewed here.

Any questions on this please evemail me but I am NOT an expert, I've learnt in the last 2 hours through watching the links I posted below and lots of logging off and on but if I can help I'll give it a go. I hope this helps you if you've been having trouble.

For those concerned that this is breaking the EULA\TOS and the legality of altering the XML Code can be found in the E-UNI Video at this point
