Neocom Resetting after computer crash

While playing EVE, my computer crashed (this was unrelated to the game and is a hardware issue on my end) When I next logged back into EVE, all of the windows I had pinned were gone, my chat channels were gone, all of my saved overview settings were gone, camera shake was on (I always turn this off), and the tutorial had reset so it popped up again when I logged in. Basically everything in my HUD and some of my settings had reset.

Why does this happen? Are the HUD setting stored locally on my computer, and if so, can I back them up so that this doesn't happen again if another crash happens?

Just a hour ago this happened to me, too. While floating at POS suddenly I suffered graphic card driver errors.... and after some automatic recoveries, windows 7 showed a blue death screen. After reboot and login to eve, all personal overview settings are lost. My open channels are open, but settings gone.

I have been restarting eve, the launcher, updating, etc... with no effect. I run the repair tool, but it failed after a few minutes while reading de db.

Any hint about how to recover our settings?

the settings for each client are stored locally on your comp.

they can be found under "C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE"

for each install, you will find a subfolder with a straigforward name, within this, the "settings" folder is what you are looking for (cache can be ignored).
