Undock Animation

OK, first off, I think the added pod animation and acc gate animation were a ridiculous waste of programming resources.
Anything that takes away from fixing core game mechanics is just plain dumb.

That being said, and now that CCP has opened Pandora's box for wasteful animation, I would suggest that an animation that shows door bays opening and your ship starting to move towards the doors with stars outside would be something that any player would appreciate. It would be immersive, and just as logical as the acc gate animation.

Currently a couple flashing lights after hitting the undock button, with your ship stationary, followed by your ship out in space going faster than your top coasting speed lacks continuity.

Frankly, I would prefer you scrap the acc gate and pod animations altogether, but if you plan on going down that path, an undock transition animation would be something of value.

As a plus, in TiDi and such, you are stuck in a tunnel of flashing lights for a long time.

Except that the jump animation was part backend and part art

Art devs don't contribute to any "programming resources" and thus you argument for that is moot. The backend stuff was to actually change the system transition routines and according to them actually worked to make jumping systems faster than before as far as the actual system loading is concerned.

The pod death animation thing was likely something they put together in a day and it hardly a waste. Move the camera to zoom in and throw in some text, easy-peasy.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?
