I know everyone bangs on about Eve having consequences. They aren't exactly game-over consequences though.

I've recently been playing games where it becomes "game over" when you die. Can anyone introduce me to any more?

Faster Than Light
Don't Starve

PS - I heartily endorse both of the above =)

Aaaaaaand relax.

Much pasta - thanks Akita - I will digest that at my leisure =)

Ed - Hmmm - not many games designed to destroy your soul there - mainly "modes" - anyone else found any gems?

That's interesting - I didn't realise that they had a genre. Thanks.

+1 for roguelikes

Check out stuff like Dungeons of Dredmor (funny and a good place to start) or if you want it a bit more hardcore (and free!) try Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup or Tales of Maj'Eyal or of course the real classics like Nethack and genre namesake Rogue

If one character isnt enough and you want to screw up bigger stuff try Dwarf Fortress (with the Lazy Newb Pack) <- I still havent played it much because it is so complicated but i like watching lets plays about it^^

Besides possibly losing a bunch of isks I think EVE has very little consequences, and that's a pity.

I have the sadistic vision that this is where WiS could integrate well into the EvE gameplay:
1. Scout out the enemy character, find where all his clones are located.
2. Have several teams infiltrate those cloning facilities (splintercell style) simultaneously and sabotage this character's clones while he is undocked.
3. Kill character's ship and pod in space
4. permanent death.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

It's a good job this is OOPE rather than GD!

Can you imagine the amount of uproar if CCP implemented that? Holy moly.

To roll with the idea - skills train 20x faster but death is permanent once the WIS guys have tracked you down....

Aaaaaaand relax.
