Concepts to Benefit new players: KP.

It seems to me that the general message of high-sec is getting lost on some people. To me high-sec should be:

"A equal opportunity, positive self-image forming, co-operative that works together to provide benefits to all it's members with equality."

Instead High-sec is full of people who scam, and hate one another, and the only sense of co-operating is enforced by the DEATH PENALTY for all offenses.

"If your looking for kindness in EVE online, your gonna have a bad time."

To this end, CCP should introduce "Kindness Points" or KP. These points would be issued by players less than 90 days in the game to recognize players who have significantly contributed to their game-play. These points would be universal Loyalty Points able to be cashed in at any LP store.

See a newbie begging for ISK in local? Trade him ISK for a few KP!

This would give new players a small marketable advantage, in this way new players could "Buy their way" into a decent corporation, and grow with the right kind people.

There would be obvious limitations on this to prevent exploitation, a limit of five thousand kindness points per newbie per day, would allow those with caring hearts to reap immediate rewards for their good deeds.

"With a little kindness we can turn New Eden into a literal Garden of Eden, where brutality is replaced with compassion"

Well I was going to share my opinion but seeing as you're only interested in constructive criticism, I guess I have nothing to add to this thread.

Only if we are allowed to have Villainy Points to be cashed at Pirate stations, so proper griefers, scammers and suicide gankers can get a decent start up too ...

Sindel Pellion would be queen of the KP. My roommate was scamming in Amarr local for 350m isk and the Angel Project sent him the isk if he promised to stop scamming.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

I like this but should not be allowed to be dispensed in high-security space.

Exploit found... create a whole bunch of alt characters using PLEX and/or buddy program and rack up the KP.

Instead of being paid to be nice to a new player, why dont you just do it?
Some people enjoy helping our younger players, either by giving them ISK, advice, or modules (and in some cases blowing them up showing them that yes, you do indeed loose your ship and no, its not the end of the world Lol ).

People who go out of their way to help new players normally do so for a reason, either because they are bored, because they hope it will lead to something beneficial down the line, or because they have alternate motives like getting recruits or similar, or because they simply just like helping people because it makes them feel better about them self.
These things should be payment enough, even if you cant point and say "I got this many points because the new players love me this much!".

Honestly, if the lack of a system like this keeps people from helping new players..well..seems like they dont really have much interest in helping new players anyway.

And fast note on the buying their way into a good corp... Anyone can buy their way into a corp. Have enough ISK, know the right people, and in some cases enough money to sign up on forums and so on and you can get in anywhere. But just because you can pay for it does not mean that your a good EVE player, or a good person or a good fit for the corp.
If someone wants to get into what they consider a good corp they should work for it, and if they lack the skills or have a bad attitude they can change/work on that. This way they will learn that everything you do in EVE has consequences, and learn to show respect when its appropriate and watch what they say or do in public.
