I'm a personal fan of dual-proping my frigates for better range control. It has its weaknesses (specifically against AB-webbing ships), but it performs well in most brawling situations. Try to avoid destroyers and some cruisers if you can.

[Tristan - Madman]

[Lows]
Damage Control II
200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Micro Auxiliary Power Core II

[Mids]
Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I
Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Warp Scrambler II

[Highs]
Light Electron Blasters (Void)
Light Electron Blasters (Void)
Small Diminishing Power System Drain I

[Rigs]
Small Anti-Explosive Pump I
Small Trimark Armor Pump I
Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I

[Drones]
5x Hobgoblin IIs
3x (your choice)

Stats:
- burns @ ~2400 m/sec with MWD (~850 m/sec with AB)
- deals ~170 dps @ ~ 1km optimal + 0.7km falloff (~185 dps overloaded)
- has ~5000 ehp
- is completely cap stable @ 50% (the Nosferatu is there for anti-neut defense)
- tracking on the Electrons with Void is ~0.55+

Notes:
- this is a tight fit... you need very good fitting skills to make everything fit (use meta Warp Scrams and/or Tech 1 Micro Aux Power Core to free up CPU)
- if you drop the Nosferatu you can comfortably fit Light Ion Blasters or even Neutron Blasters (which, using Navy Antimatter, have better range with little change to gun DPS and tracking)
- tactics are pretty simple; use the MWD to get in range... switch to the AB... get into a 500m orbit... deploy drones... overload the guns... and pray.

If you want to kite...

[Tristan - Drone Slicer?]

[Lows]
Damage Control II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Drone Damage Amplifier

[Mids]
Medium Shield Extender II
Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I
Faint Warp Disruptor I

[Highs]
75mm Gatling Rail II (Spike)
75mm Gatling Rail II (Spike)
(empty)

[Rigs]
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Core Defense Shield Extender I
Small Ancillary Current Router I

[Drones]
5x Warrior IIs
3x (your choice)

Stats:
- burns @ ~3100 m/sec with MWD (~4400 m/sec overloaded)
- deals ~120 dps @ ~ 16km optimal + 3km falloff
- has ~6000 ehp
- capacitor life is ~2.5 minutes

Notes:
- this is a VERY tight fit... you need near perfect fitting skills to make everything fit (you can trade the Nanofiber for a Co-Processor or the Shield Extender for a meta one to free up CPU)
- standard kiting tactics... get in range and try to stay within Warp Disruptor range (which is ~20km)... pound away with drones and rails.
- the 75mm rails track surprisingly good. You do need Tech 2 rails to make this fit really work though (you want to use Spike ammo).
- If something manages to grab you at close range, switch to Javelin ammo if you can... it deals more damage and boosts your tracking a bit (though, to be honest, anything that catches you will kill you).

Fluffers has some solid fits there, which I may need to try out myself. From me, however, I will deliver you a classic.
Incursus: Dual Rep wtf tank

Highs:
Light Ion Blaster II (x3) [CN Antimatter S]

Mids:
1mn Afterburner II
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
Small Capacitor Booster II [Navy Cap Booster 200]

Lows:
Damage Control II
Small Armour Repairer II (x2)
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

Rigs:
Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I (x2)
Small Nanobot Accelerator I

Drones:
Hobgoblin II

This fit excels at one thing and one thing only. Out-Tanking your opponent(s). This fit can easily tank any other T1 frigate and deliver its own punishment. DPS is a little low for a blaster boat at ~130 from guns alone, but a Hob II will also add around 20 to that figure. Your cap is not stable even with the boosters, so manage the reppers carefully, as it is easy to cap yourself out in the middle of a reload. Get in close to the enemy, orbit or keep at range at 500, and go to work.

I'm looking for some solid Atron fits. I don't know whether I should max gank them, or try to give them some tank. I have decent fitting skills, but my pilot skills do not reflect my SP as I don't have the opportunity to play much. I would like to go try my hand with at some FW this evening, so some fits would be appreciated.

Looks of things you're in GalMil. I'd suggest just going to ask XG for his 1.5m horde atron fit. A decent pack of those can win any isk war as long as you manage to kill something. But if you're going for solo you might want to think about something else. Maybe a scram range rail atron.

Try to stay away from dual rep incursus as they are very easy to avoid/kill if you have time. They are ok if you are in a small gang and other have the target hard tackled (scram/web)

The incursus reps like a boss with a single small ancil repper loaded with nanite and has decent speed and full tackle if you want to brawl but with some control.
[Incursus, Brawler - Blasters]

Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste
Damage Control II
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

1MN Afterburner II
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I

Light Neutron Blaster II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S

Small Processor Overclocking Unit I
Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I

Hobgoblin II x1

But if you really want to fly the incursus the way it was meant to be flown......rails all the way

Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

1MN Afterburner II

Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I

150mm Railgun II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S

Small Auxiliary Thrusters I
Small Hybrid Metastasis Adjuster I
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I

Hobgoblin II x1

That is the Way, the Tao.

Balance is everything.

Normally threads asking for fits get shot down pretty quickly I'm glad this one didn't. Some neat stuff in here a few of which I have not tried. That dual prop tristan is especially interesting I'll have to give it a shot.

Tank? On an Atron? Heresy!

[Atron - DualpropDerptron]

[Lows]
Micro Auxillary Power Core I
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Damage Control II

[Mids]
Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I
Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I

[Highs]
Light Neutron Blaster II (Caldari Navy Antimatter)
Light Neutron Blaster II (Caldari Navy Antimatter)
Light Neutron Blaster II (Caldari Navy Antimatter)
(empty)

[Rigs]
Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I
(empty)

Stats (with level 4 and 5 skills)
- burns @ ~3500 m/sec with MWD (~4800 m/sec overloaded)...~1200 m/sec with AB (~1500 m/sec overloaded).
- deals ~190+ dps @ ~ 1km optimal + 4km falloff (~220+ dps overloaded)
- has ~2400 ehp
- is completely cap stable @ ~50%

Notes:
- Meta fit it for extra cheapness/expendability and/or if you can't use Tech 2 stuff
- You might have some issues with CPU. You can downgrade the guns to Ion blasters or use a meta Damage Control to free some up.
- tactics; use the MWD to get in range... switch to the AB... get into a 500m orbit... overload the guns... and pray.
- Don't be afraid of overloading your weapons... but do keep an eye on it. This ship (and fit) lives or dies based on whether you can kill your enemy faster (or at all).
- Best when used in tandem with other "Derptrons."
- Attack Battlecruisers, most frigates, and some kiters will be afraid of you (and try to shoot you down ASAP).
- Destroyers and droneships will really ruin your day.
- This is one of the few ships out there that actually "hull tanks" (most of your raw HP is hull). People who used to fly the Taranis (the Tech 2 variant of this ship) often joked "you're not winning if you're not in hull"... and it's kind of true. I can't tell you how many times I've won a fight with 6% structure left on the damn thing. Lol

Or... if you aspire to be an interceptor pilot... try this out...

[Atron - WannabeAres]

[Lows]
Micro Auxillary Power Core I
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Damage Control II

[Mids]
Medium Shield Extender II
Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I
Warp Disruptor II

[Highs]
75mm Gatling Rail II (Spike)
75mm Gatling Rail II (Spike)
75mm Gatling Rail II (Spike)
(empty)

[Rigs]
Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I
(empty)

Stats (with level 4 and 5 skills)
- burns @ ~3700+ m/sec with MWD (~5400 m/sec overloaded)
- deals a pathetic ~40+ dps @ ~ 16km optimal + 4km falloff (~50 dps overloaded)
- has ~5000 ehp
- is completely cap stable @ ~40%

Notes:
- Meta fit it for extra cheapness/expendability and/or if you can't use Tech 2 stuff
- Forget about dealing damage. That isn't what this fit is made for. Just grab a target/hostile ship at range and live.
- Everything fits pretty comfortably. You may have CPU issues but it shouldn't be too much of an issue to fix.
- tactics are pretty simple; use the MWD to get in range... get into an orbit of 16 to 20km... apply your Warp Disruptor... call for help.
- If you feel pretty cheeky you can toss the shield extender for a Tracking Disruptor or Sensor Dampener. Using either with put pressure on your capacitor though and leave you with a MUCH shorter engagement window.
- Still feeling cheeky? Dislike those drones that keep nipping at you? Load your railguns up with Javalin and take them out. Don't have Tech 2 rails yet? Neutron Blasters loaded with Lead or 200mm Autocannons will work in a pinch.

Go for the Mancursus because well.

It simply has no equal when it comes to t1 frig brawling.

Don't use a dual rep setup though, they are awful.

You face is awful. Evil In a dual-rep fit I've taken down most close range destroyers and almost took out a Rupture solo once. There was another time where I tackled a Hurricane (with support) and lived for a good 3 minutes until help arrived.

I will admit... it is tricky to manage and is terrible against kiters... but when it works, BOY does it work.

The Breecher can do similar things with dual-ASBs. Twisted
