5 bucks says it has a cash shop.

Why Can't I have a picture signature.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

Talk about nostalgia, I had a 386 enhanced x 66 with a whopping 24 megs of ram that still needed the boot disk. I will be happy if I can cram as many small pulse lasers as possible on a mech again and cackle while melting pieces off the enemy mechs in seconds at point blank range.

The advantage of a bad memory is that one can enjoy the same good things for the first time several times.

One will rarely err if extreme actions be ascribed to vanity, ordinary actions to habit, and mean actions to fear.

You kids and your Mechwarrior.

The most glaring thing in the link is the phrase 'TEAM-BASED', which doesn't fit at all with that game type of building the biggest meanest toughest mech you can. It strongly implies that there will be team roles which requires limitations where this kind of game has up to now been about building the biggest baddest machine you can.

But if they go to team based and start using building points, specializations, classes, archetypes.... you'll be applying lolvideogames logic to everything. Instead of buying bigger guns, thicker armour, and more powerful thrusters, now we get to hear about how the repair mech can't have good weapons... the the tanky mech can't move quickly... and the dps mech is alergic to armor plating. This will badly hurt the above mentioned immersion.

yeah cause mechs werent organized in things called "Lances" (4 mechs working in a "team" in the Inner Sphere and "Stars" (5 mechs working in a "team") in the Clans. Learn what youre talking about before you talk about it. youll look less stupid that way.

Don't be thick.

Just because you run around in groups doesn't mean there is any team strategy to building and progressing through the mechs. EVERYBODY GO TOGETHER IN GROUPS AND SHOOT AT THEM is not a setting for anything but a firing squad. If that's all they meant they wouldn't have bothered calling it team based, since multiplayer already guarantees that much.

Read the article and learn what the thread is about, before you talk about it so you'll look less stupid.

Take your own suggestion, bud.

It sounds like WoT for mechs. That would be pretty cool.
And the closest we're likely to GET in line with a Mechwarrior MMO since FASA went dead (Ans apparently M$ sold the rights).

????

Somebody doesnt know who Smith n' Tinker is.

Ill give you a hint, the people who make up most of the company where in Fasa. Makes sense to sell the game back to those who handeled the game the best, Microsoft is that kind of publisher, Unlike EA over there that would buy a franchise and ruin it to ashes. RIP Westwood.

Also the game rights where not sold to S&T they where litterally given to them with a large sum of money from microsoft to get the game off the ground to the point where you saw that trailer which its whole pupose was to get more money supporters onboard. Microsoft would have loved an xbox 360 game but arent getting it anymore and with no lawsuits flying over that one I guess they managed to make MS understand that a real mechwarrior game only belongs on one platfform, The pc. Unless S&T pulls a Chrome Hound and gives us a 100 button controller that looks like a mech's interior controls complete with eject button.

The thing was awsome, it had six foot pedals with forward back roll and back roll into it. Two Joy sticks one throttle and 3 consoles full of buttons for various switches and lights. Including the all important eject button which deletes your game if you dont press it in time.

Well, last I heard, someone named Catalyst Games had the Btech rights as theyre making the RPG lol

huh Btech, being a part of MW yet the rights are sold/given/w/e away to two different people?

But yeah, I havent followed the rights distribution after M$ got them, really.
I assumed theyd sold them, not given them away.

wait... what lawsuits? That the one from the Battletech ppl cause they were using the mechs that were basically jacked from the TV show?
Id heard of something like that killing MW5
