What was special? That was where the work got done.

The lunar observations there permitted mariners all over the world to determine longitude.

Doesn't your shipboard computer carry a copy of Wikipedia? I thought the default 10191 archive was burned into the firmware of every knowledge base.

I just ****** up bad. While replacing my Sisi installs on my scratch disk, I deleted the whole EVE folder, which included like, all of my EVE images from ever. I tried an undelete program, but the storage space was overwritten with new installs of Sisi.

This was two hours ago, and I just now realized what I did.

it could be worse, and I can somewhat continue where I left off using the previews images.

I'll let you know what it looks like, I haven't taken a full inventory of the images I have in other places on my computer, and uploaded to mediafire.

I'm on a beastly 20MB up/down (yes, 20 megabyte, or 160mbit) fiber optic line... it looks like I should begin using mediafire for more of a complete remote backup. it has 51 gigs available for free.

:-/

all my EVE images from ever. ****.

that I should worry about losing my hearing is nonsense, because there will always be -=BASS=-

I truly feel your pain. Sad

True story: buddy is moving to another appartment. The last day at the old appartment, puts his portable disk with over 160 Gb of his artwork in it in a garbage bag with some clothes and other last-to-move stuff. He's also filling a second garbage bag with trash before leaving the old appartment forever.

Arrives to new appartment, opens the garbage bag and sees it actually is the trash bag and not the last-move one.

He rushes to the old appartment but garbage has already been collected.

He lost most of those 160 Gigabytes of artwork, gone forever. Later recovered some 20 Gb from his laptop, mostly stuff he had been working on recently. Luckily, he decided to carry the laptop in a backpack rather than on the last-move garbage bag...

Moral: only put garbage in garbage bags.Ugh

I recommend Dropbox, I use it to store (in encrypted files, encrypt then store). Link here, disclosure people that sign up gets me an extra 500MB per person. Big smile

Link here.

I also use Google Drive, and keep manual syncs between my drives and those virtual ones in the Cloud.

Keep it encrypted always when storing in remote storage.
