i have a theory the only our side of the eve gate close. and it opened somewhere else. and this somewhere else is where our wormholes go. hence the sleepers are actualy true terrans.

I know who the sleepers are, You should read Dust 514 to find out for yourself haha!

There are many theories, though what I liked to see, is the eve gate opening once again and the Terrans coming through it because they spent this 16k years trying to develop the technology to leap great distances like using the Eve Gate. I imagine they don't need stargates to travel anymore, so they spent their time trying to develop Eve Gate Travel.

Imagine in a expansion where the eve gate opens and they come through. All the wars stop to focus on the eve gate, They gather around the new highly advanced ships that reappeared. They open comms with all the ships and empire around the area only to say one thing. "We have come to reclaim what was rightfully ours."

I prefer the idea that something like the Columbian exchange was going on, and that the Terran side needed New Eden badly as a core interest more than as a component of a colonisation program of the Milky Way. However having done back of the envelope calculations I don't understand why the Terrans would have needed Stargate technology as an absolute necessity, nor that they didn't colonise the entire Milky Way.

We know our current tech is inferior to the Terrans, but we could take a vessel and cross the entire Milky way in under a century, even accounting for pausing to recharge capacitor and picking up new fuel. No, I think that the current backstory is s theory that the people of New Eden have, not what actually happened.

It would be interesting to go back through Eve and see that a similar dark age / collapse occurred on the other side, maybe introduce 8 or so new races from the rubble.

That is indeed a good question. Considering the short time span that the EVE gate was open and how quickly and how far they got in New Eden, the Terrans must have had more advanced ways of travelling than we do. At the very least jumpdrives that don't require a lock on beacon or warp drives a lot faster than ours. It's the only way they could have gotten out there quick enough to build a stargate network seeing we need a gate on either end for a connection to work. Unless of course they had gate tech that eliminated the need for a partner on the other side.

It's possilble though that because of resource reasons it was just easier to still use a get network, so not every ship needed to have that jumpdrive or whatever. Could even have been a form of control. It's been suggested in Templar One that the powerful factions of those times kept strict control over the resources needed for warp travel. Planets were being sold for colonisation in New Eden afterall, so I can imagine there being factions trying to keep a measure of control over everything.

In this dark void we are like brilliant stars, holding within us both the creative and destructive power to bring a new dawn upon worlds or plunge them into eternal darkness.
