Not 20 minutes later I recieved a declaration of war.

As it turns out, this Idelan,character felt inclined after having this lovely and insightful conversation, to hire mercenaries to destroy my friends and I. You'd think he was offended or something!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are fighting a war over an argument pertaining to whether or not it's okay to be fat.
I think this is a first in EVE history!

My alliance is industrialist. We are not prepared to fight a war, and we are flying to our deaths.

Regardless, every blossoming hull of mine that comes to a fiery end brings a smile to my face, for I have never fought for a more worthy cause!!

I'm only mad at the larger folks because they didn't want to be charged double for airline seating, so I have to share half my seat with them everytime I fly. What?

Actions in Eve have consequences. Wars in Eve have been started for a lot less.

Example: HBC were going to go to War against N3 because Progodlegend called Sort Dragon's girlfriend crazy.

The bravest soldier i ever met was overweight, scored more kills than anyone in his battlegroup, had the friendship of most of the men in the division he served and had the friendship of men from foriegn forces. He was like a father to the lads who signed up like virgins to the brothel and he survived to tell the tale. He married a woman from the opposition and settled in foriegn lands until infirmity brought him home to the good nest of old blighty.

He drinks in our local boozer and is a hero to all men who call themselves Free.

Now don't get me wrong. I have nothing against overweight people themselves. Most of them are outstanding individuals. But obesity has become a problem in our society. That's all I was trying to get at in this conversation.

Actually only 12% of the world is undernourished not half and most of them not starving.

Hunger is at an all time low in the world and there is a very good reason for it. Capitalism. Capitalism saw new idea's and innovations in growing crops and helped spread them increasing outputs of edible foods for tracks of land in magnitudes.

The % of people poor and hungry continues to fall around the globe, the reason for this is poorer countries are starting to become more industrialized and building infrastructure. Lack of infrastructure like roads and railways is one of the major reasons for poverty and hunger. Others are war and regional conflicts that affect food supplies and misuse of land. Africa has more then enough arable land to feed the entire world, it just isn't being used and the governments there are terrible at making sure it is. There is a huge lack of educational frame work which stunts national growth and competent governance.

The world does have more then enough food to feed itself and the richer capitalist countries send massive amount through government and private citizen aid programs but it will never be enough, lack of transportation infrastructure, corrupt governments and wars will see to that. It is when nations pull themselves up that poverty and hunger take a back seat. The world revolution that needs to happen is for these hungry countries to get stable governments, take control of their food production, build their infrastructure and increase education.

these things take time, the 1rst World Nations didn't become rich over night, it took time to build the infrastructure and institutions that allowed it to happen. The world is getting better and while charity helps it will never compete with the prosperity of domestic capacity.
