Good evening everyone,

I would like to post the name of an Awox'er who we unfortunately allowed to join our corp

I would like to post the name for future recruiters to be aware of:

- Faf 007

Due to an error on our part in not conducting a thorough background and API check and at the time of recruitment a forum search was conducted, but no information was found relating to the particular pilot (and ultimately the blame falls to me as i am the CEO) we unwittingly allowed this person to join our corp.
Although after this incident a more though search of google found some interesting information.

Everything looked fine, right up until he asked to join a fleet so he could increase his wallet amount.

Below is a copy of the corp chat log of what happened after he received an invite from a corp member (member A).
(I have edited the names of corp members and removed a lot of smack talk to clean up the post a little)

[ 2013.06.20 18:02:25 ] Member A > steve!
[ 2013.06.20 18:02:26 ] Me > yes i am here mate

[ 2013.06.20 18:14:15 ] Me > ok, nice to know
[ 2013.06.20 18:15:14 ] Faf 007 > 200 mil or you will see much more
[ 2013.06.20 18:15:42 ] Me > and how do we know you'll keep your word?

Regrettably Member C, true to his word and after being repeatedly told not too, paid Faf 007 the 200 million ransom.

True to form Faf 007, continued to remain in the area and attempted to blow up more of our ships from members who were logging into the game and unaware of the situation.

Due the game mechanics, we were unable to expel him from the corp until he docked up and he remained in space for the rest of the time I was online.

This incident has taught us a very valuable lesson and which imo more than covers the loss in ships. This is an ingenious scheme and who ever thought of it deserves a pat on the back for thinking outside the sandbox which is eve.

My only concern now is that more people/corps don't fall for this tactic by Faf 007 and others like him.

Then why not let others learn the same lesson?

An awox victim that admits the fault lies solely on him. I can honestly say that this has never happened before.

I am impressed as well. Full marks as the CEO/recruiter for taking the responsibility. I came expecting to read the troll chorus and I am happy to leave disappointed.

Also posting here won't save the next person who won't do a Google search. Odds are most wouldn't have looked here either.

That's no good as evidence. The court will need to see the unedited log with smack intact.

You would have been good just to call him out but then you had to post the chat which just makes you look worse then you admit one of your members paid a 200mil ransom LMAO yeah your corp is on the awoxers radar now beware here they come.

Thank you for your comment regarding my post.

Like you I too LOL'd when I heard that a member of my corp paid a ransom.

To also reply regarding your comment to posting the chat logs, if I hadn't posted something here as proof to underline the reason why I was posting the Awox'ers name, how quickly do you think I would have been flamed down for not providing suitable evidence, which I might add is prevalent throughout this section of the forum and can be seen in the comment posted by the gentleman previous to your yourself and who are only interested in the LOL factor.

Thank you very much for your comments MALLAK AZARIA & FROGGY STORM. I have no doubt about not being the last CEO/Recruiter to fall for this rather ingenious scheme, There are many Awox'ers out there and I am more than sure I shall receive my fair share of recruitment requests shortly Big smile

I love these threads where people can't accept their own inability to screen people properly and suck it up when the inevitable happens.

This is like admitting in public that someone gave you a well deserved weggie and instead of balling your fist and caving their face in..... or raising your middle finger and promising retribution you cried like a girl and said, "but why... but why.... but why....."

"Someone please understand how vulnerable I am... how much I need others to do my work for me...."

MEH

I ran a null sec corp in some of the biggest alliances in EVE for 6 years and we had *zero* .... count 'em *zero* cases of AWOXing. Part of that had to do with the outstanding efforts of our recruiting team and some of that had to do with having a corp culture that sort of "self culled" misfits after they were recruited.

And had it happend... I would personally have ripped the mutherfuckers head off and pulled his entrails out through his neck.

I wouldn't have been in the forums asking why this happened to me. Or asking for help.

Which pretty much explains why my corp didn't have this and yours did....

Meditate on that.....

Sorry, OP, but most people in this board are more on the "C" side than the "P" side, from what I can tell, and not all maintain a level of professionalism while hard at work earning other people's money.

Taking responsibility for mistake: Good. Warning people: Useless.

If you'd like, though, you can contact me through eve-mail about contract work helping you develop better corporate security. Reasonable rates.

Posting about it on the forums isn't really my definition of sucking it up. It seems to me that he was trying to post a "lesson learned" so maybe I judged him too harshly.

You I don't know and it really doesn't affect me that you play the man instead of playing the ball.... In fact, it actually means more to me that Adunh rated my feedback at 0/10. Usually we see eye to eye.

I think I know who did this. For a reasonable fee of 550m isk, I can help you exact your revenge.
