Duality Open

Greetings tournament peopleses,

Duality is up and open for business. There’s a couple things we need to go through so that y’all are set for it though.

First up, connecting to it is a bit different than usual. We’ll be keeping Duality on par with the current client on TQ, so the first step is to make sure you’re fully patched to TQ. From there, you’ll need to make a shortcut to exefile.exe, which resides in the “bin” folder of your Eve install. After making such a shortcut, right click on it and go to “Properties”. From there, add “ /server:Duality” without the quotes to the “Target”. If you open it up and the launcher appears, you did the shortcut to “eve.exe” and you’re bad at following directions.

Mac users, I have no idea how this works for you, hopefully someone will pipe in and give you the info and call me a moron or something.

That should get you to the login screen. It’ll say the server’s not accepting connections, but that’s for the general non-tournament riff-raff, you my friends get to come right on in.

From then on, you’ll probably want to get to your alliance’s system, which you’ll have to ask your captain for. They’ll tell you what the password is as well, which you will need to enter as your ship’s POS password.

CAPTAINS!
Use the “/setpassword” command in chat in order to set your system’s password. It will also tell you what system is yours.

Known issues:
In-game search is broken, use Dotlan routes to navigate around for now.

Fixed Issues:
/setpassword sometimes is ineffective when not in the passworded system. This is unlikely to be fixed.
Captains’ neocoms freak out and generally don’t work. Fix for that should deploy on Monday.

Could we get some unallocated SP on duality? A lot of pilots are training right up to the wire and it would be a big help. Thanks.

Maybe. If I were to do that, what would be a reasonable amount of SP?

Did the T3 sp loss get turned off?

Search is a bit broken on Duality. Where "a bit" means "completely"

I would love this as well. I know several people are rounding off a few skills, and it would be nice to practice with those skills finished off. Cyna Popper else mentioned 2m, and that seems reasonable (just a hair over 30 days at perfect remap and +5s).

I have several alts (out of corp on TQ) that I like to have available to cover certain roles (especially boosting) during practices with limited pilots. Is there some way we can add accounts to the list of those allowed on Duality?

Fozzie is fielding those requests, have your captain gather a list and send it to him.

Account names or character names?

And thanks for the help with all this, I know it must not be easy to manage but we all appreciate it.
