I've been playing for about 6 months now and I have to say I am enjoying myself thoroughly and am quite impressed with the quality and level of game-play... it's awesome! Now, nothing's perfect, like the crazy spastic speed-head-nut-job camera and warp animations making people sick (it is a game to be enjoyed), but the daily bug fixes and awesome pew pew boom KABOOM is great. Thanks a bunch and fly safe!

Cool. Just wondering when a player is not considered new anymore.

I started in 2008. I'm pretty new.

That's part of what makes EVE fun for me. It's getting to your destination that is the fun part. Once you're there, meh.

I plan on living forever.......so far, so good.

100 mil SP is bitter vet status I believe.

A person ceases being a new player after they get podded. podded hard...podded all night long.

Can't wait untill when Eve online is Freemium. WiS only 10$, SP booster for one month 15$, DPS Boost 2$, EHP Boost 2$ Real money trading hub! Cosmeitic ship skins 15$ --> If you don't pay **for a product, you ARE the **product.

If by nut job camera you mean it swings around when you click on things, there's a fix for it. Press the 'c' button while in space and make sure the 'use tracking camera' is unselected on the scanner window.

I'd say the game is new to you if you keep finding new things to do in it.

If you dif a rut and slide down it then bitter vettiness comes a lot faster.

It's a completely new game every time I decide to explore a new aspect of it,

And I haven't even done market wars, incursions, wormholes, solo low-sec pvp, FW, that much exploration, industry etc. etc.

Well according to all you experienced guys then there is a good side and a bad side to this new vs vet thing.

The good: I can tell those guys in chat that have only been in the game for two years or less to shut it when they start the epeen waving and tell them they are still newbs.

The bad: I'm going to be a newb for a very long time. *facepalm*

I started back in 2003, and I can say that I never hit "bitter vet" status.

I'm more of a "bitter noobvet"

Posting in a stealth "nerf hi sec" thread.

I'm not sure how, but the OP is complaining somehow. I'll find out eventually.

Noobvet, best vet.

And yes, with a bit of luck, you never stop being new — there's always something else to explore. P

There is no such thing as a Vet in eve, you are just a bit less of a newb than the rest :D

Community is awesome? Holy hell, what kind of games did you play before you came here? Eve makes people evil...or at least encourages and rewards people for appearing that way. ;)

Having said that, I actually agree with you. I prefer actual honesty from people, and (outside of the really good scammers) I've seen more of it in Eve than anywhere else. Hell, even the scammers are more honest in this game than other MMOs, because here, they don't have to deny what they did after the fact.
