removed, hardcap introduced like 1 or 2 years ago. Still you can make them a pita to scan out, with the same old approach. Don't know how good a prober must be with odyssey now because of +10% scanstrength module.

You will need a certain probe strength to scan down previously unscannable t3's. That which I don't know but tried with my scout alt (I have all level 5 scanning skills + virtue set and 10% scanning implants) and was testing this on one such t3. It was tough even for me to scan down. This was before Odyssey so idk how much mods will effect that but I'd say if you fit it right you'll have to have damn near perfect skills to scan it down!

Odyssey means you can insta-launch 8 probes on a functionally cloaked ship (which no matter how awesome you are and how skilled your toon and how many shiny implants you have, you cannot probe down...) before the guy sees your probes on D-scan with his elite "soloing" toon and moves the T3, packs up his slightly gimped instalock disposa-griffin knob-buffing alt, and snarks at you in Local about how you are incompetent.

Then you can play the guessing game about whose alt on the forums is his. The panty-wringing female alt which roleplays as dumb? The wise mandarin? The guy who talks half in tongues and wins the arguments via baffling his foes until they give up and stop replying? The dense uber-pendant who can't logic but can write 64 paragraphs to your one and wins the debate with cannon fodder verbiage? Or is it the guy who smugly proclaims that CCP would never nerf T3's because its not pay-to-win, the T3 addict is just metagaming.

I dunno, its kinda a hard thing, this probing of T3's.

Seems to me they changed it from totally impossible to impossible unless the prober is max skilled and implanted.

Or you actually scan him down and he is sitting in a POS.

Generally I would be running d-scan first before launching probes anyway (with an alt, natch) and tend to realise when tower + forcefield + lame-ass boosting Loki are all within 5 degrees of one another.

But I have probed down fighter drones before (I like finding abandoned fighters in nullsec and scooping them) and found them sitting in a POS. Which is pretty hilarious because I warped to the BM in my mammoth. And died.
