Last time I was in Jita it was bots spamming page long ads. Definitely macro bots, as the trade offers from some are spammed liked candy, repeatedly over time. It's a god awful place and needs to be nuked. Everything destroyed into a giant fireball. I don't care if folks have 100 billion ISK worth of assets in Jita 4-4, folks need to learn why putting all those eggs in one basket is painful.

May all the botters and scammers be drawn and quartered and burned to Kingdom Come.

That's asinine. Destroying the assests of hundreds of players because you can't be bothered to put a dozen people on ignore.

I do hope that was sarcasm.

Anyway, with regards to local chat spammers, it couldn't be easier to ignore it. For everything else, there's contracts and the marketplace. Yeah, people might want a more face to face interaction, etc. But the whole, face to face thing? Doesn't apply a whole lot to a game where you can fly a kilometer long spaceship. The personal touch just isn't in the game very much.

Also, I would highly encourage you to look at some of the trade or industrial chat channels. Haven't investigated this myself for a while, but there used to be quite a few of them hanging around. Or failing that, start your own channel for it, or start hanging around in the Buy/Sell forums on this very website. Plenty of options out there.

The more I read the forums over the years, the more I swear. To god. That the typos are intentional mistakes. Part o f the encryption.

New program = scam/spam bot detector. If scam/spam bot is detected, they get criminal flag. The players will sort them out.

I went to Jita to pick something up and moments before I went through my usual routine of minimising Local I witnessed the sad case of a 13 year old kid being spammed, and being upset and in tears about it. That was downright dreadful.

I wondered if the Dev's would ever deal with it because I often see the Spammers themselves bragging in other Local chats that they do it because Eve allows it. Jita now has reached a stage where you need to do ten minutes of blocking before you start seeing the proper game players chatting.

I would like to see just a couple of changes:

* Remove Local from Jita altogether.

* Introduce a new system where players can open a new 'report spammer' box where they can tick that option, then cut and paste a brief example of what is being said and send it to the Devs. 50 Spam reports gives them a yellow 'Wanted' label (also highlighting they are a known spammer), a hundred Spam report auto-kicks them out of the station for the hunters to have a play with, and if they start to spam from somewhere in space and get 150+ Spam reports then its total open season for any bounty hunter to claim the entire bounty on their heads, not the current fraction.

It would be nice if the Devs remembered that not everyone on Eve is streetwise, or over 18 for that matter.

For the record I'm an old fart myself, but still a parent with a teenager who has begun to take an interest in games such as Eve. They are the next generation of Eve players, but I'm not going to encourage mine to join when he's older if the Dev's continue to put their fingers in their ears and say 'La la la I can't hear you' about the whole Spamming issue.

What spamming issue are you talking about? If it's botting, I can see why it is considered a problem, but I don't see anything else that needs addressing.

Said it before, will say it again. Doesn't work. The "Jita is my home" guy recycles alts. He has a different character everytime I go to Jita. RvB guy recycles alts but hasn't figured out that posting the contract with your main created by your scamming alts defeats the purope. My blocked list is around 700 and my screen is flooded with scams in seconds of entering Jita. And the those gambling ISK spammers create accounts just to defeat the block feature and they seem to be endless. How many other are there I haven't identified!
