So I was traversing the wormholes as I sometimes do when I get bored in my home system and in the wormhole J153722 (a C4 or C5) I found a TCU anchored near the sun. It was owned by the corp Powerducks (a member of the PowerDucks Alliance). At first I was like HA HA ROFL LMAO LOLOLOL, but then a corpmate showed me an oldforum thread about how some alliances like to put TCU's in their wh to show ownership. But all those thoughts cleared as soon as I went scouting their pos's and saw moon harvesting arrays . . .

Is this really as stupid as I think or is wasting ISK on TCU's and moon harvesting arrays just to look badass the new meta with odyssey?

TCU are often used to show ownership, or even to farm easy kills from noobs (by placing it next to POS guns).

Moon harvesting arrays...well now that's just stupdity.

um, class 4 are best wspace. We have moon minerals. Also for you carebearing pleasure, we can disable anomaly scanning on a whim via frontier barracks. Mining rocks/sleepers has never been easier.

I always assumed people used them to create a celestial that can be selected in the overview in order to easily align to the POS.

Nerfed/Bug fixed in today's patch too. I'm starting to think CCP devs read the wormhole forums and/or bug reports concerning wormholes. How else would they be finding out about these "features that actually happen to be bugs"???

There was many a day folks would log in to find wrecks at the TCU. We got more than 1 Sisters Launcher out of that trick, and some funny ship/pod kills. Our main POS was a mean ***** and a lot of folks couldn't resist checking out a TCU in w-space. Lol

Well, you were lucky. I have lived in wormholes and used TCUs anchored near the pos.Mainly for two reasons:

1. for noobs/null sec experts to warp to them and get killed by pos guns
2. for me to have a quick shortcut on my overview to the pos

so yeah, they look stupid. but they're not.
