Heck yes. I did my first pvp duel last night.

I use the term loosely as my arse was handed to me in a major way. It was awesome though. I didn't stand a chance. I was flying my Rifter and he in his Catalyst (I heard they were good). I accepted his duel without much thought and boom, I was dead.

I'm not sure I hit him. Matter of fact, don't think I did.

I'd ask what I did wrong, but I get the feeling I did most things wrong.

However, once I podded and got back to station the guy (sure wish I could remember his name) was so nice that he messaged me, told me I had balls (cause other folks refused his request to duel) and promptly sent me 2m to replace my ship and items.

I couldn't believe it. Very cool.

On another high note, I was mining in my newly acquired Procurer (yes I'll get a retriever soon!) and my Warrior drones took out a pirate by themselves. It was the first time I'd seen them in action. I just kept on mining.

Such a cool game. I still feel ******** 90% of the time tough.

I am in a similar situation, but I've had a lot of practice in nullsec gang fleets as a tackler or cruiser dps.

I was flying my blaster merlin the other day, and got into a fight with a russian in a firetail. We were neck and neck, I had him into structure but he got the last shot off. It was fun, and my MASB tank allowed me to punch above my weight. Later on, he was in a rupture and got blown up by gate guns after stupidly engaging my friend, who was in a corax. My friend lost his corax, but I burned close and grabbed the loot from the rupture and frigate (There were two more frigates engaging, one got blown up somehow). It was worth 14 million, which was more than enough to replace my losses for the day.

So, yeah, I'm not exactly lethal yet, but each time I've found a fight I have gotten closer and closer to winning. It will just make it all the more sweeter when I do.

Yes... you will always remember your first loss to another player.

But what will REALLY stick with you is your first kill. I can still feel the rush of blood and adrenaline years later. It is what got me out of Hisec and eventually into null.

Congratz and welcome to the REAL EVE Online.

Very cool! congrats on going after your first pvp battle and having a great time and a great attitude! There is a lot to this game, I'm over 2 yrs and I still have a lot to learn. It is a blast. If you get bored with one path in EvE, you can switch and go after another and there will always be peeps around to help you, and scam you.. so watch out for those last ones!

Welcome to Eve, I hope to see you around

Thanks for the positive replies!

When I viewed my loss record it shows that it was in fact not a Catalyst that beat me, but a Drake with Tech 2 gear.

No wonder why it hurt so bad! lol
