Relic and Data Site Question

I'm finding Data sites a lot better than Relic sites. It occurred to me that I'm perhaps picking container types that have been good for me in Data sites and perhaps there's a higher chance of one container type dropping good loot in Relic versus Data sites.

Then it hit me, other than using a different unlock module, is there any difference in Relic and Data sites? Are the chances of things dropping different in the loot tables?

Relic sites can be profitable but like the data sites its all about focusing on the correct mini can types

In my experience relic sites are far more valuable then data sites on avg. But data sites have rare blueprints that can be very valuable. So it might even out in the end between them.

Parts > Materials > Data > Scrap = Equipment

Unless you want blueprints/Skillbooks, then get data.

Radar's in wormholes are pretty **** unless you find caldari hybrid techs, or get a talocan wreck.

What do you rate as the valuable cans in Relic sites? I'm generally in agreement with Lakshata, but I'm not sure if that's more for Data sites.

Just use an alt or another person you can co-ordinate on who gets which spew cans, very easy to collect em all. Also, per relic in a C5 i make 500+ each site, usually pushing 800

You use a cargo scanner to check out the container before starting your hack, right?
If not, do so from now on.

Then, check out the link below, but note that this list is not final.

I've done 20 or so sites in low and null, and have almost always gotten all the loot from each container.

Or just run sites with a friend.

Thanks for the info, I bought a cargo scanner (I hadn't done until now because I thought they could only be used on the loot mini-containers which seemed like a waste of time).

I usually run Data sites in a C2 and i can make around 100M if i'm lucky with the cans. For the relics, i never find anything valuable in it, if someone can tell me what are the «valuable» items in relics (mostly in c2) ?

And if there is something valuable, are they better than data sites?

I ran about, I guess, a dozen sites yesterday in nullsec which I "high-graded", meaning a used a cargo scanner to scan the cans and only hacked the ones with the most valuable loot.

I guess all in all, between dodging the locals and everything it took me about 2 hours to find 12 sites to run and at the end of it all I had about 140mil worth of loot plus blueprints that will run another 150mil in profit by the time I run them. I was acutally pretty pleased with the isk/hr. I might have gotten lucky but I guess it pays about as well as ratting in null-sec once you get the swing of it.

Initially I thought it was going to be completely unplayable because of being massively colourblind but the cargo scanner makes a big difference because you know what you're looking for.

I haven't tried relic sites yet. what I did notice, at least where I was, was that there were more data sites available than relic sites.

Data sites have the advantage of being hackable by the Echelon's purloined sansha data analyzer. At 80/40 base stats it has better coherence than a T2 analyzer fit covops or locus subbed T3. For home sites that ex novelty ship is now actually pretty handy, especially for people who couldn't be bothered to train Hacking V.
