You have 43.75 PG to play with. The (3) T2 Strip Miners use up 36MW (30MW for the T1 strips), which leaves you with 7.75 PG. The MAPC would add 10MW, which might barely be enough to fit a medium Azeo if you stick with T1 strips. Which only gets you to 24.2k EHP on the Hulk, with a yield of 1116 m3/minute instead of 1385 m3/min and 22.2k EHP for the other fit. Not much difference in survival.

(The barges/exhumers really need a boost in PG/CPU. Enough to put them into the realm of "if you don't fit a tank, you truly deserve to die" instead of "even if you fit a tank, you'll still die to a solo or duo pair".)

I can fit a medium shield extender, and T2 ice harvesters, and 3 invulns on a hulk, without Grid rigs, or a MSE and T2 Strip miners also with 3 invulns, with one grid rig. And this is with maybe 9 days of basic fitting skill training. Figure it out.

Auxiliary Power Controls. Implants. Grid Rigs. Or numerous combinations of those allow a experienced fitting pilot to to get to 30k.

You'd be surprised how hard that is for some people to figure out.

what really should happen is blacklists for miners and industrials where they can enter some players and if they set up buy order said players can't buy from them. you know, actions should have consequences Pirate

how happy they would be when they/their corp had to mine themself because no one would sell them their gankerships hehe

It takes about 2 minutes to set up an alt. You were saying about blacklists?

Buff Concord = Gankers will stomp their feet and cry, but then seeth and find ways around the new buff to make their point

Nerf Concord = Miners will unsubscribe and CCP will lose money (Remember, it's the gankers who are constantly claiming that the 'carebear' miners are weak , lazy, and stupid. If this is true, then miners will not HTFU, but simply leave)

There's a bit of a difference there in regards to the overall effect on Eve in general.

Profit favors the prepared

That is why I do not support a buff to mining barges /exhumers tanks. I have an alt who flies a 32kehp Hulk (with72% em - take that you minmatar rf em alpha pilots) and still has a yield of 1302p/minute

EDIT: actually playing in EFT with that alt and its fit I could replace some standard mods with meta 3/4 mods to take it to 34714 unheated.

Overheating when yellow boxing takes it over 40k ehp for 1 minute and 50 seconds. Plenty of time for Concord to do their thing.

OR you could get some PvPers and/or PvP alts in blackbirds and other T1 cruisers and BCs to protect you while you mine. I know this is a shocking and revolutionary concept, but nonetheless I promise it will work to prevent you getting suicide ganked if you have even just a handful of people, preferably in blackbirds or falcons.

you do realise highsec mining brings in sweet F all unless you're trying to mine Gallente ice.

Setting up a fleet in any gal ice system right now, even with protection, is like inflating a giant blow up doll and putting a sign on it saying "Goonswarm dear im ready, come gimme" - as these are the type of people whom get their jolly's out of killing things that cant fight back, and if they try to fight back or put up a resistance they bat-phone all their mates and blob you.

so firstly - its not profitable to hire defences when highsec mining, the miners just dont make enough isk to make it worthwile undocking.

secondly - even if goons wernt around and its just the "normal" bored suicide gankers, the "defenders" will last a day or two before demanding a substancial payrise as they're bored shitless (understandable, it'd be like setting up a gatecamp on a deadend system deep in 0.0 when noones using the system you're camping - occasioanly smoeone will pass by but its once in a blue moon)

and thirdly, CCP Hilmar has tweeted he's been thinking of buffing concord, not nurfing it, as the issue of suicide ganking, goonswarm you can give yourselves a pat on the back for this one as you're the reason they're looking at buffing em - is getting seriously out of hand, and at current benefits the person doing the suiciding, as they get the ship that they awoxed back in full via insurance AND the wrecks of the persons they popped.

Also - GL fitting hulk with a tank that can do anything other than belt rats unless you only want to put on two strip miners instead of three.

Edit just for JitaAlt - love to see how that tank works when an Awoxing Typhoon says HARRO

Fine thus far. Sits in 0.7. Mines when I am really bored and my life is at a stand still. By the way awoxing is not the term to describe a ganker in empire.

Why would you have a Typhoon in your mining fleet?
