What do you guys think the price trend for the Echo rookie ship will be? Is it a good idea to buy one of these now and sell them a year from now?

Quoting for when CCP releases these as some sort of LP or pirate sign-up reward and the price plummets.

With CCP there is always the concern that limited items will get re-released/nerfed. Having said that, I bought a bunch of Apotheosis' (around 6m per unit) and Zephyrs (6-8m) about 3 years ago (and Echelons at 200k -2m), and even though Zephyrs were handed out once as sign-up rewards afaik, the trend has been an increase in price, with a 3 or 4 fold increase over this period.

As trade items, these ships are reasonable long term assets (fingers crossed), but in the short term it makes little sense to invest in them.

The question for me is when to sell these ships. More than once I've thought of disposing them, but I've probably become attached to them. This will surely lead to heartache, one way or another.

Any colour you like.

So, long-term you think these will increase in price?

Perhaps CCP will do things differently this time around, the complaints are time and again mounting to keep rare items rare.

1.
Name rare items/skins, rare and items/skins meant for re-release not tagged, this would make life easier for every one.

Perhaps they will make some kind of effort, if and or when these pirate factions may or may not be actually introduced into the game.

Also sitting on Apoth's zeph's and echolon's en mass.

I would also like to note, Echolon's now receive a +10 hacking bonus.

It's a horrible idea unless you have so much isk that you can't spend it all. Let's say you can make 25% on it. Not bad. But if it takes a year to get that return then actually really bad.

Region trading will net you 25% return in a matter of days if you identify the right items. Then compound it and you will see that the thought of 25% annualised return on a few hundred million or a few billion is just not worth the wait.

The trick is being able to routinely identify the right items in a changing market.

A pirate rookie ship given out to those who subscribed to the live stream.

Just search "Echo" in your market browser in EVE, you should find it. It looks neat.

You could have subscribed to the Fanfest stream or went to the PAX conference.

These ships are rare - they WILL be expensive.
