The Bounty System

This system is so useless it's almost comical. Random people are able to place pointless bounties on others for no reason and all it does is make the game mechanic a useless tool for bored people that have nothing better to do in the game. Is there anything in the works to fix this?

It's improved over what it used to be.

What exactly do you find useless about it and how would you like it to be implemented?

Edit: Or are you mad because someone placed a bounty on you?

I'm happy with the bounty system.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

What annoys me is how rare buyable kill rights are. But I guess assassins are implicitly criminals.

The bounty system is fine (except not being able to bounty certain people).
It took CCP long enough to fix it.

Did someone leave a bounty on you or a friend? Bounties are nothing to be afraid of. Look at mine- I undock and fly around just fine. But unlike criminals, my bounty is actually mostly tips from clients whom I've asked to bounty me if they were satisfied with my services.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

Bounties are just a small bonus for PvP activities. They're not worth hunting individual targets for.

At least raise the minimum amount to a mil. That would make more sense and be a bit more towards the rewarding side.

The last time I lost a ship, the payout was only 11m of bounty. Would that really get you excited? I hope not.

If it's useless it seems strange that you're complaining that other people keep using it too much in ways you don't like.

Please complain about legitimate problems with the bounty system, rather than just whining because you got a bounty put on you because you're a moron with a big mouth who likes to sound off in local all day and feels entitled to not meet any kind of consequence.

The bounty system is CCP's way of rewarding players who pvp. If you keep your efficiency high enough you can pay off your pvp ship and costs thanks to the isk sink of bounties. People who place bounties on other people should knowingly only do so for the idea of promoting less costly pvp.

Something clever

Still better than the previous system.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

I quite liked the previous system even though it was a broken mechanic.

Someone once asked in the 'help' channel how to place a bounty on someone that had just ganked their ship.

I told them that whomever ganked their ship owned them and by wasting ISK putting a bounty on that person's head they were essentially owning themselves a second time.

The bounty system should be renamed "ISK Sink" or "***** and Giggles" ,so as to more accurately reflect its general utility.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

The only thing that needs to be updated is that people with outstanding kill rights should be allowed to be attacked in high-sec by anyone in return for a suspect flag for the attacker.

The bounty system with only the victim having the kill rights doesn't work, since they are usually not able to act upon it.
