Quote:

#5. Babies Are Seekers of Justice

Researchers at Yale stuck babies between 6 and 10 months old in front of a puppet show, a morality tale featuring anthropomorphic geometric shapes ... 80 percent of the babies reached for the helper shape...

...babies as young as 8 months agree that justice should be rewarded and evil should be punished. That study was again conducted with puppets (the universal language of babies), and in this one a bad puppet was either rewarded or punished as the babies watched. This time, the babies picked the punisher as their favorite. Not the victim or the bad guy, but the one who administered justice.
(emphasis added).

There are two takeaways:
1) CONCORD isn't going away,
2) EVE's core player base (the not-in-the-80-percent) has been screwed up since birth.

Twisted

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

3. Babies haven't been jaded by the reality of life as of yet.

4. Babies don't actual have a sense of good and evil, morality is a taught behavior.

We've overlooked the obvious conclusion here... babies, like many of us, just enjoy punishing puppets.

The logical portion or majority of the frontal lobe doesn't finish development until around 25 years of age. During the time period this study was conducted you could compare a babies brain to that of an adult reptile. All research in human / early childhood development at those time periods is to study when we can first start accessing such behaviors and how they are formed. You can't remember the first 3-5 years of your life because humans are one of those species whose brain isn't fully developed at birth. Also more emotion than logical based memories are established which do not have a significant thresh hold for long term storage. Though traumatic events can be repressed or stored through retrieval cues later in life.

AKA, don't assume studies they do on babies as having any relevance to a player base consisting of people with fully or almost fully developed brains. Unless concord has something to do with epigenetics or sociopath brain types. In which case you should rather look deeper into the philosophies of morality and just world theories that have little relevance to a system that calls upon events, conditions, and triggers.

Also who is to say that CONCORD would be the object dishing out the 'justice'?

Can it not be other players?

I am one of the most cynical, pessimistic, and simi paranoid persons you'll ever meet, I quite often would like nothing more then to get rid of 99% of the people on the planet, almost everyone is either a window licking ball bag piece of junk.

The only reason I haven't gone ballistic on people is cause I can also see how 99% of the people on the other side of my line want to erase me as well for being a window licking ball bag piece of junk.

So I have a choice...what to do about it, I have chosen to try by example to teach the other 99% of chimpanzees that there is a better way and instead of banging them over the head you must be the one to offer sanity and reason first and if the chimp does not respond to that (if there's no danger) offer rewards for small cooperation in small things and punish them by letting them destroy themselves as much as they want thus I win either way, they learn and evolve or go as the do do bird.

This may sound pretty arrogant but it works, people who cooperate in my circle of existence by being reasonable and fair are treated to a no drama relaxing forward way of life, those who don't get left behind.

I control myself first before I expect it of others, those who cannot incorporate control have bad wiring upstairs and are truly junk.

First thing you should do is buy some guns.
Then a trench coat.
Then just go for a walk and see what happens.

I can't wait to read about it.

Human beings have a rather well-honed instinctual sense of fairness, which is an important part of being a social species. Since fairness is an important part of justice, the results of this study do not surprise me all that much. Of course, having a sense of fairness doesn't mean one will always strive to support fairness. We are also instinctually selfish and greedy as well. People learn to balance these instincts in different ways.

the terms of good and evil is only there to manipulate people, the good always say the opposite is evil however the other party thinks the same way, they are the good the others are evil... good and evil is only used by people who do not want to use their brains and to analyse the reason for some actions, its easy to say he's bad, however to understand why he did things is more complicated, people tend to go the easy way... there are reasons behind actions, but the reason is not good and bad, its always principle of cause and effect
