Unless they seed more, by what ever mechanic takes their fancy, I suspect they will swiftly become too rare and expensive for most people to consider using and thus become irrelevant. When was the last time you saw one of the other unique reward ships in space?

I like the idea behind this ship. Sort of a Swiss Army knife. Very different from the specialization of the other Eve ships.

I just wish it weren't so damned artsy-fartsy. I get it, it looks like a sextant, its a metaphor for exploration, but did we have to get bashed over the head with it?

It isn't exactly a new ship.
It's the final boss for the SIsters of EVE epic arc, for example.

it's a ship you keep in a station that's in a system you never go to and forget about it, because flying one IN SPACE where people can see you is like shouting "KILL ME ASAP".

and Gogela's WoT(Wall of Text) just says what I've always known: it's versatile but balanced not only with itself but also with the other BCs out there.
also it's a BC not a Cruiser.

If you've got crap tons of money, and don't mind being a target, it is possible to get a very good tank and gank out of the ship.
Due to its low cpu, it works best Minmatar fit. My friend and I were messing around on EFT earlier, and came up with this:

[Gnosis, DPS/Minmatar]
Republic Fleet Tracking Enhancer
Drone Damage Amplifier II <- Whatever you want to put here.
Damage Control II
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer

Pith X-Type Shield Boost Amplifier
Pith X-Type Large Shield Booster
Caldari Navy Adaptive Invulnerability Field
Caldari Navy Adaptive Invulnerability Field
True Sansha Medium Capacitor Booster, Navy Cap Booster 400
Federation Navy 10MN Afterburner

425mm AutoCannon II, EMP M
425mm AutoCannon II, EMP M
425mm AutoCannon II, EMP M
425mm AutoCannon II, EMP M
425mm AutoCannon II, EMP M
True Sansha Heavy Missile Launcher, Mjolnir Heavy Missile

Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit II

Valkyrie II x5
Warrior II x5

Obviously, you'd downgrade modules as necessary; however, here are the stats: (W/level 5 skills.)

554.75/555 CPU
1142/1500 PG
Shield: 5k, Armor: 5k, Structure: 5k
Omni 73.3% resists
EHP: 39.923
565 Shield Regen, 595 max
DPS: 619
Targetting: 62.5km
Capacitor: 9 minutes, 3 seconds.
Mobility: 414 m/s

Notes about this fit:
1. Mission Runner
2. OMG WTF I've got money lulz
3. Such awful EHP that it'd be the suicide gankers dream.

So it's an under-overpowered ship that won't be used except in the situations where it will be.

People are saying that it's over powered. It's not OP. I've been messing with it on Sisi and here's what I think: Yes it is very versatile. 6/6/6 slot layout pretty much means you can fit it to be anything you want... but that's a lot of slots for a T1 cruiser and you will pay in CPU... you won't be able to fit high powered mods across the board in your mids and lows. The resists are omni for both shield and armor, so there is no one weakness you can exploit. However, the resists are very low. It's pretty easy to bring a T1 cruiser up to 70% omni resists even with marginal skills, if you are so inclined. You'll find on the Gnosis it's virtually impossible. Here's what I think the Gnosis is: It's a ship that anyone can fly, but only a pilot with maxed out exploration, shield, armor, drone, and weapons skills will be able to fly it as it is meant to be flown. The Gnosis is a lowsec exploration ship, pure and simple. It can find radar/mag/ladar/etc... signatures and then run the anomaly in any part of lowsec space. It is NOT a wtfpwn machine. A dedicated T1 PvP ship will kill it if the Gnosis is fit to role. If a Gnosis is fit for PvP it's low resists, low speed, and ho-hum DPS will get it killed. The only way a Gnosis can be effective in PvP is if the pilot is maxed in all his PvP cruiser skills AND is very experienced in using different tactics (kite/ew/snipe/drone/brawlers/neut/etc...). The Gnosis is a maintenance ship... it has 75m3 drone bay (awkward!), lots of mids, and lots of lows. It can fit for a wide variety of tactics. You won't know what you are up against when you fight one... but like I said if that pilot isn't an expert you will probably kill it. I for one am not good enough at PvP to fly a Gnosis, despite the fact that I have the skills maxed. I predict there will be a LOT of Gnosis killed in the days following it's release due to overconfident pilots thinking they know what to do with this thing. It's strength is in it's utility. In a game of hyper-specialization, that's going to be counter-intuitive to a lot of people.

What do you think? Anyone else play with fits on sisi?

wrong. it's a SoCT ship. it may say jove in the ship preview window, but it's not. The Society isn't even a jovian organization. it was just founded by one. his name is Ior Labron

Really like the concept...was what kept me from exploring in some places. Needed alt, orca, combat, and scan ship...now I can enterprise my way around and not have to switch ships to get a decent scan time/site clear. Production of course is the only thing missing. Would they include a jove ship into the production matrix? Seems to me...opportunity for another ORE ship...

The Gnosis is one of the best small gang bait ships in the game. 109k EHP, dual web and point, eccm to withstand jamming and - most of all - a hull that everyone would love to pop without thinking much (no skills needed = every player in the game has one and can fail at fitting/flying it).

Can you imagine 100 of these things roaming thru 0.0. At any rate I really like the ship for what it is however a few things I would like to see happen is model it after a already highly capable low-sec exploration ship. The Pilgrim...and yes I mean being able to slap a Cov-ops cloak on it but tone down some of its dps potential to compensate for this. Anyway just a few thoughts from me to you Cool

1) I'm no FC, but I think I'd take 100 drakes over 100 gnosis. The difference in DPS is pretty significant and adds up even faster in a fleet. Like I said in my little necro'd beta review, the Gnosis isn't a great specialist. Instead it's got a little of everything. Most of the big alliance fleet doctrine style ships find a particular aspect of a ship which is powered over the rest and enhance that attribute. In great numbers that hull specialty becomes a real force multiplier. tl;dr; The Gnosis multiplies force by 1 Blink

2) You put a covops cloak on this thing and it will be the only recon BC hull in the game. While hull value would go through the roof, I think it would be OP. I mean, don't get me wrong... it would be my go-to ship for sure...
