This will come off as whiney and I don't mean it to be. I love EVE and have played since Oct 30th 2004. I just came back from a two year break and fired up my two accts. One was this Hulk pilot and the other was Orca alt. Mined for a couple weeks in a small corp and what can I say it's mining. I decided to get a combat character so I sold my Orca pilot. I got a 7.7mil pvp starter toon. Not uber but has plenty of ships she can fly and decent gunnery and support.

So I decided to do FW. Joined a corp and ganged up with them a couple times and did alot of solo roaming. Couldn't get a fair fight at all. Never could get a even match against anyone. Always me versus 3-4, when I COULD get a fight. Ended up losing a few hundred mil in ships til I said enough is enough and quit the corp and FW.
Saw my toon could fly a Noctis which looked neat so I thought maybe I'll get into salvaging. I figure the quickest way is just to do some ninja salvaging. Wasn't really making enough isk to make it worth the time even though I don't play the game to make isk. I see a video on FW salvaging elite wrecks so I fit up a magnate to scan and salvage and run all over and never could find any elite wrecks so I just came back to high sec.

I would really like to pvp but I don't think null/low sec mechanics are too attractive to me. I think just to be able to shoot some people I might end up war deccing someone. Does anyone do this anymore? I know back in the old days it happened all the time. Just trying to find something in the game to latch onto. I'd hate to unsub before my first month back is up. Any ideas?

I would personly see if you could find a merc corp to join.

They should have some fights which are fun, some not so much but it will get you PVP skills up.

Just a thought.

Welcome to EVE. Stop looking for 'fair fights'.

That is true, the funny thing about EVE is that it's probably got the oldest players on average of all MMOs, but they all behave like children in kindergarten, only fighting people who they're certain can't really fight back.

You'd think them being adults, they'd realize it was a game and it would be ok to take risks in order to have a fun and challenging fight sometimes, without having a gang to save your ass all the time. I.e. being a decent and somewhat honorable man/lady about it.

That's just me wishing people would pull their ***** together though. Realistically there won't be any fair fights in this game, no.

1v4 is actually a fight in your favor. Stop complaining and reap those 4 noobs. And you should consider yourself lucky since it's very hard to get a fight like 1v7 because they'lre all like OMG HE'S A PIERAT RUN AWAY!!!

Faction WARfare.
Fair fight.

Methinks you dinnae understand this concept "War." If you've found a 'fair' fight in warfare, both you and the other guy have screwed up - badly.

Warfare is all about ganging up on the other guy, ambushing him whilst he's taking a dump, kicking his rapidly-cooling corpse into the latrine, and taking all his stuffs - breaking what you can't take.

You want fair fights, join RvB - they do that all the time.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

This is basically your first problem. FW is not, and hasn't ever been about fair fights.

In FW space, expect to be blobbed, expect to have a Falcon uncloak near a plex entry gate, expect even blues to jump off the button when you warp in.

But don't expect a fair 1v1. It's not happening.

If you want some goodfights, join RvB, they are the place to be to find them. That's pretty much what they're for.

This is not behaving like children. Picking your fights smartly is behaving like adults well versed at tactical and strategic thought. War is an act of cruelty by nature. Killing the enemy matters more than how it's done. If you're smart about it, of course, and don't get caught up on this silly e-honour bullshit.

Duel fight in a market hub. Reppers that come out to help in a fight go yellow and are toast, so you usually end up with a 1v1 - altho many will have command ships giving them buffs, but if ya check their kb you'll know what your up against.

So what is your gaming style? Your in game moral code? Can you cut loose and get edgy with a fun corp that fits your style? hisec decs happen all the time. Start chatting with different people in local and get to know them, you may find a group you like to be with and let the shenanigans begin! :) Don't give up quickly, I'm sure you'll find a great group of peeps that you'll love hanging out with.

Well this isn't a war, it's a game. Which in my humble opinion is about having fun, and picking safe fights isn't fun.. But each to their own I suppose. I still think you're a child though!

^This too. Blobs are smart picking fights, and a theoretical chance of 10% you loose is because eve is eve. Stations and npc-null handle the rest of situation. This means being pro.
Now a bit more serious, what good to have 100m skillpoint if you unshure of your abilities? Because this way of playing the game shows just the fact that most of the Pro Boyz are in fact cowards gangs.
E-honour is bullshit, i agree.
Just like e-peen.

There's also the problem of that guy probably using a few billion isk worth of tanking implants so he never loses. Dueling is pretty pointless.
