I sent CCP a petition the other day regarding graphics issues.

At the end of the petition I said "My head is off for the awesome gaming environment" but really meant to say my hat was off.

We really don't need pilots walking around with their head in their arm reporting for duty

Take up a hobby like knitting or crocheting if you are bored.

You do realize that if this was ISP like AT&T, ComCast, Virgin, AOL etc that they would be having their asses chewed out and fines levied against them by now for excessive down time right? There's something called "reasonable expectation of services".
In the grand scheme of things... You're all pubbies. So HTFU. "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses." - Elwood Blues

When you go for tacos, could you ask if they would deliver to Allamotte please? I was out mining when the server went down and I'm getting hungry.

Gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with this game's community. In every other online game I've played, any event like this would result in 99% of people bitching and complaining, asking for refunds. Here, it seems only a minority of subscribers are idiots about stuff like this.

we need to get busy in some way...

PS r u Italian?

Canadian - but I'm aware my character's name is Italian :P

Yay! Another Canadian!! \\// Live long & prosper fellow country citizen! =P

I love how CCP refuses to even acknowledge that these server issues (save for the DDoS) occur right as fleets in fountain begin forming or engaging. Is CCP not taking initiative and reinforcing nodes in fountain that have timers? Will CCP bother to even comment on how these outages are affecting the outcome of some of the largest fights the game has ever seen? Probably not and this post is probably going to be closed over.

Bet its Single Sign Online (SSO) security configuration issues and not CCP written software directly. Ten years ago SSO was really best used inside corporate firewalls at least in the most straightforward configuration. I bet that has not really changed.

Too much brain damage to recall for sure. But I think the logon info really had to be put on its own isolate private network to avoid complications from hacking and DoS attacks.

Basically logon info is just too time sensitivity to be exposed to the real Internet and efforts to relax tight time constraints also makes you much more hackable.

So the solution is simple except for requiring painful and exhaustive configuration of a secondary network and making sure all software consistently routes to one network or the other.

But such solutions are annoyingly dirty to computer/software types such that 3-6 months can easily go by as they try every other theoretically cleaner approach.

UPDATE - 01:25 UTC - Tranquility is back online in VIP Mode for testing.

"Online" does not mean accessible by players. This is happening way too often. You need to refund players accounts or extend their time.
