As a big thank you from CCP ....all clones over 100 mill sp should be free !

After all its all the senior players that have kept this game going for over 8 years so a freec clone as a reward is not much to ask.

As for all you young petenders trolling and handing out lots of advice ......learn some respect .....coz I know ive earned it ( and paid for it ) !!

Being old doesn't mean you're worthy of respect. It means you're old.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

I have to agree. 45 mil for the cost of a clone is getting a little silly.

Not all older characters have the means or time to earn 10x as much isk for a clone as someone with much less sp.

Also, a 10mil sp pilot with skills trained to level 4 vs a 100mil sp pilot with skills trained to 5 does not yield a tenfold isk earning potential. If I could finish ten level 4 missions with a 200mil sp char in the time it takes a 20mil sp char to do one mission then the logic of the lowbies trolling on here would hold. I can't, and it doesnt.

I know many high sp pilots who have picked up lower sp chars just to pvp with because the cost vs effectiveness is waaaaay out of balance.

CCP already did something about this in the past. Time for another review is all. I do think it's fair to have an increasing scale, just not an exponentially increasing scale. If the scale was linear it would be balanced.

1mil per 10mil sp covered perhaps? I think that's a nice ballpark for discussion.

10ml sp char costs 1mil for a pod.

150mil sp char costs 15mil for a pod.

Come on CCP, it's time to look at this problem again, don't stitch up your loyal playerbase.

Well, let's take a look at the prices:

Under 92.5 Mil SP -- 20 Mil Isk
Under 120 Mil SP -- 30 Mil Isk
Under 156 Mil SP -- 45 Mil Isk < I estimate about 10% of players based on past figures I vaguely recall
Under 203 Mil SP -- 65 Mil Isk < a number of players
Under 264 Mil SP -- 90 Mil Isk < few players

There are a number of people shelling out 45 to 65 million isk for clones. That does not include the loss from the ship, modules, or implants; don’t forget about buying new insurance. A frugal pilot is looking at a 100 mil isk loss pretty easily.

So that loss is about 2-3 good hours of incursions, 4-5 hours of missions, or a whole lot of mining. Depending on your free time, how you make isk, what you fly, and other factors, you could be looking at a couple days’ loss for one ship.

Considering the price more than doubles before the 100 Mil SP mark and then triples, it is a bit steep. My heart goes out to the people past the 203 Mil SP mark. That one is insane. For the 92.5 Mil SP, that's one good mission or incursion. A new dictor does roughly double that cost.

Prices take from the EVElopedia:

Just buy an an alt for a few billion isk which does the small ships. Your 200 Million SP char can stay in his super. Or whatever else you spend all those last 100 Million sp for, because for sure you have not spend them on flying small ships.

Remove insurance.
