Can anyone in the know shed any light on the horrendous spike in the above material?

As an example, it is used in Power conduits with 15 needed per 1 item but as that would total 2.2m at current prices and the item is selling for 1.2M I cannot see how anyone is making isk.

Can anyone shed any light on this as I know I am missing something.

The usual deal - someone bought up all available stock in Jita and put up a new buy order at a massive markup, everyone else jumps on the bandwagon to see how much they can sell at the inflated price. It'll settle back down to the usual price in a few days.
