Sorry if I am doing something wrong, but just a question about the new exploration sites. Data for example. Sometimes I will get to a fresh site, and a couple of the new containers say "you already have access" etc.. it does not start a mini game, and they still appear white on overview, not dull grey as if they have been used. Is there something I am missing to these?

Also, when you fail they can explode, any skills affect this? Or just your mini game passion? Hehe thanks everyone!

I have encountered a few sites where the cans that spawn 'require no further tools to access' but you can't open them in any way as you can't loot spew without killing the core. I submitted a bug report for each site I found like this and received a response saying this was a known issue and will be fixed with the next small patches.

As for cans exploding, basically it happens when you fail a minigame for the second time. The only skills that will prevent this then are Archeology for relic sites and Hacking for data sites. These skills give you more health in your minigame and therefore less chance of exploding a can.

You can also fit rigs to your ship to help such as memetic algorithm banks and such, and there are implants which help.

All it means that some bast´rd has been to the site before you, used a cargo scanner and cherry picked the valuable cans to hack leaving the rest.

This impacts site regens, as CCP decided not to despawn them once one container was hacked as the old mechanic, the site will not appear else where now until all cans even the worthless ones are hacked.

So all CCP needs to do is revert to old despawn mechanic, there are no rats so no need to warp in and out at all now, and kill the cargo scanner working on them so they cherry pickers have to do some bloody work to get the goodies

already dead, just haven´t fallen over yet....

the only problem is the cargo scanner, having sites not despawn is ok.

I did like that they despawned, as you would be pretty certain it's always a nice and fresh site when you eventually managed to find one.
I'm not saying they should necessarily despawn instantly if you leave them, but after 5-10min with no one around they could quietly go away and make room for new stuff, I think.

I thought the idea of exploration was "you win some, you lose some". If someones come and cherry picked before you, you're sh*t out of luck unfortunately and its a loss...
If someone hasn't then hey presto, you win.

If it despawns straight away, its barely exploration anymore, its "givenonasilverplatteration"...

It's human nature to want to explore. To find your line and go beyond it. The only limit, is the one you set yourself.

This.

I'd do all the containers because of the respawn, though it's a bit irritating having to empty your cargo every two or so sites because all the voluminous junk...

Well if you could fly into previously unknown parts of space in your exploration adventure, I would do so, but as it happens you can't, so there's always going to be other explorers around, even in the most remote places of null sec.. So when you run into these already looted sites it's a really hollow and meh feeling.
Kinda breaks the illusion of "exploring space" and finding new stuff and reminds you that it's just yet another grind for resources.
