Problem to re-install the new client of EVE.
Downloaded from the official website.
re-trying to reinstall it with offline installer -> same error -> see in the subject.

Not the good version between the payload and the installer maybe?

I ran into the same issue last night. I had an issue with my Windows installation. So, I decided to wipe and start clean. When I tried installing Eve online, I had the same issue last night.

I noticed that the community page has a different version of the installer than the client download under account management. Community Offline Installer Page

The account management page links to installer version 553211. However, the above link has version 553820 on it. I'm downloading the newer version now. Hopefully, it works.

No go. I tried on three different computers. All have Windows 8 64-bit, so I can't see if this is a Windows 8 only issue.

Looks like I'm going to have to bypass the installer and manually install the files from another computer.

Dear devs,

Apparently you forget all the time that users can move their TEMP directory and i m pretty sure that it s the cause of the inability of the installer to retrieve the payload...
Can't you just tell us where to put the payload that the installer need to? it s not in the appdata for sure(the online installer download the payload in local from appdata....
can't you just give us the directory?

This is quite ridiculous... I came back to eve because of a good offer and friends bugging me, and no matter what I try to do I cannot install it either. I am on windows 8 (unfortunately) and have tried windows 7 compatibility and get the same issues.... PLEASE FIX/HELP!!!

EDIT: The offline install option gives the same error

yeah but windows 8 is nothing related to this error, im sure of it...
At least, the dev could give us the content of the error if they took the time but apparently we are not desirable enough i guess ^^

I was kind of excited to get back into eve... but it's looking like I will be asking for a refund if this doesn't get fixed soon... I doubt they will credit any game time...

Might have got it working. I am running it in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3. It is actually extracting at the moment. I will update momentarily with the results.

EDIT: It appears to have worked! I am in the hangar and ship spinning away! Try the compatibility mode for XP SP3. I hope it fixes it for you as well!
