Because of the interest in this topic I am reluctantly putting up my autographed copies of "Mitaninetics" for sale by contract in Jita. They are in almost new condition and will also include the study materials for the "Pub Lord" audit that is required to get to the first levels of the religion.

It is time I share these valuable keys to open the gates of true Eve potential to other citizens of new Eden.

I think I dropped some IQ points reading this thread.

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

You do remember what happened to Goose right? He probably questioned Tom a little too closely on the subject the day of the so-called "training accident".

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

L. Ron never falsely claimed to be a Lawyer, but both were/are just as delusional and egotistical.

No Mitanni is worse, he thinks he is the EMPEROR in a make believe game.
The sad thing is there are actually people in this game, world that follow him.
Now that funnier than seeing a monkey on the back of a elephant chasing a giraffe who stole the monkeys bananana.

I think he was about to whistle blow about US plans to illegally enter North Korean airspace to attempt to kickstart aggression.

He's not really a lawyer? Counsel, is that hearsay, or do you have evidence to present?

Goons probably do meet the definition of a cult.

Every cult can be defined as a group having all of the following 5 characteristics:
1. It uses psychological coercion to recruit, indoctrinate and retain its members

2. It forms an elitist totalitarian society

3. Its founder leader is self-appointed, dogmatic, messianic, not accountable and has charisma

4. It believes 'the end justifies the means' in order to solicit funds
recruit people

5. Its wealth does not benefit its members or society
*

Well, at least 4 out of 5 match Goons.

Yeah, we force newbies to sign up for EVE online and then keep them addicted with T1 frigates and T1 cruisers.

2. It forms an elitist totalitarian society
Totally. The newbies are totally the lowest rung of GW society.

3. Its founder leader is self-appointed, dogmatic, messianic, not accountable and has charisma
I don't know about self-appointed (wasn't there at the time), but the rest is true. Except the accountable part, I don't know about that.

4. It believes 'the end justifies the means' in order to solicit funds
Well, since that SOTG said something like that I guess so.

recruit people
Yeah. See: Newbies

5. Its wealth does not benefit its members or society
It benefits us, we get nice programs. And hopefully we'll keep getting them.

Say what you like about scientologists and those other victims, the Mormons, their religion might be based on a cynical attempt to make money by a wacky founder that has since metasticised into a poisonous growth and ...a sad reflection on the gullibility of people all too aware of their own mortality:

in the end its just hilarious.

Not to say Mormons or Scientologists are difficult to get a long with or anything, I find them sweet and endearing, unlike like those crazy christians who ignore the precise parts of their own holy book that contain the actual teachings of Christ, or the equally wild and woolly salafist muslims who are just itching to throw their lives away.

But you do have to give it up for people who will seriously do their utmost to believe in Xenu or magic glasses in order to not think about death.

I think the founders of EVE got the Amarr just right as the future of religion. Still crazy after all these years. Still violent. Still thinking they are right and everyone else is wrong.

The thing is without death, there would be no religion, and thus no Amarr.

Scientology is nothing new under the sun, but I suppose every generation needs a philosophical boogieman label to affix to his foes.
